That has some really nice photos. It also has a map, but I've always gotten an error when I've tried to see it, but the pics are good!

Those are some great photos....I wonder if you (or anyone else ) could tell me how likely it is to get a view from a studio at SS which would afford a nice view of the fireworks at Pleasure Island? Maybe you could give a percent of rooms perhaps?

To me, that would be a 'hook'...I can think of nothing I'd like more than to fall asleep after watching midnight fireworks from my room. I realize it isn't WISHES...but perhaps the next best thing.

I can get a pretty good deal on SS....less than Disney's current prices even with the 'rebate' for giving up a 2005 vacation (85 right?)

I think that all things being equal, I might actuall STAY more often at the lesser prices per studio units (OKW or BWV)....but if I didi stay at my home resort, I would sure love seeing the fireworks, probably better than seeing illuminations from BCV or BWV .
Thanks for letting me see so much of SS...I am weighing SS over HH at a heavy discount.

Four of the 17 or 18 buildings scheduled for construction at SSR face toward Downtown Disney. However, not all units have balconies that point toward the water and/or the Pleasure Island portion of DD. I'd say we're probably talking about 15-18% of the total rooms providing some view of DD.

Coloradobelle1-I wish I had more info for you, but I'm a newbie and haven't been there yet. Someone refered me to that website and I really liked it, too.
I would love to be able to see fireworks for my room, too. I am just soaking up all the info I can from these folks. I hope to be able to help a newbie witht their questions about SSR, some time soon.
I thought it was a good deal that I got from SSR. And I'm thrilled it will be my home resort!

I was referring to.

We were in the quiet pool at SSR during the holidays and saw the PI fireworks. They are very brief. Cute but brief.

But the NYE PI fireworks were AWESOME!!!!! I was so awe struck, I couldnt even take photos! LOL We sat out on our studio in Congress Park facing Cirque, didnt have to be in a crowded park at midnight, and saw the best fireworks show we had ever seen! And we saw some great fw's that week including the special MK fw's for MVMCP and the special edition of Illuminations.

Many people that didnt have views from their patio (not many) were in the pool area, or sat on grassy areas by the lake. It wasnt crowded at all and we could hear the sold out crowd at PI cheering. (while we were on the patio not when we went inside) DTD was all lit up and it was almost like being there (except for our 2 little boys and their milshakes )
