The front entrance is now decorated for this years event. Looks like some kind of 'stages' or 'hide boxes'.

I am guessing scare actors will be on top of these, and interacting with the arriving crowd - bit like the stormtroopers do at Hollywood Studios Star Wars Weekend.

We are going to Horror Nights next week! Can't wait, looks like they are going to put scare actors in those boxes did you see the hinges on the side of the one box! :)

My question is would you buy the 2 day PH with one night free of Horror Nights for $179 or just buy the Fear Pass for $69.99 and go at night as many times as you want during the first few weeks?

I think the Rush of Fear Pass is the best deal. It's good for the first ten days.

Thanks Metro! That's what I'm thinking of doing, we just have to find something to do during the day on Ths and Fri since we will be going to Horror Nights at Night.

I understand that Horror Nights is only in one of the parks this year, i.e. the original Universal correct? If so, that's the only downside as we wouldn't be able to go in the Islands of Adventure, which I have been to but my gf has never been there so it's all new to her...

Are all of the rides usually open during the Horror Nights event? Which ones are closed?

Some of the rides will be open, like Rip ride rocket, mib ,mummy.

Also they have the ticket scream early which allows you to enter either
park at 3:00 and at5:00 you go to the holding area. $20.00

Edit, I hear they are for Fl. residents only.

HHN is staged only in the Studios but guess what? You can enter the Studios via a special HHN entrance in Seuss Landing. You won't be allowed to enter early but rather when the event officially opens at 6:30pm. That entrance should save you some time since it shouldn't be that crowded.

This year...the following attractions are open for HHN: MIB, The Simpsons, Revenge of the Mummy, Despicable Me and Rockit.

There are so many ticket options its driving me crazy!

First of all they have the Rush of Fear Pass, which seems like the best value to me for $69.99, it gets you in for the first three weeks of the event. On top of that, they have Rush of Fear Pass with Express Access, but my question to you Metro or anyone else who knows, is it worth it for the Express Access at $179.99 each for a Thursday and Friday at the end of Sept or will the lines be minimal?

Also, trying to decide if I should buy an Annual Pass or not. The problem is might not be back til June and with the Rush of Fear Pass being a good value I might just buy that for now...

If you are going more than two or three times, I would skip adding Express to your ticket. I've done Express for the past events but not this year. Remember...there is one less house to visit and if you take advantage of Stay & Scream, you can do all the houses in two visits. Anything more than that is just icing on the cake. I would stick with the ROF pass since it's the best deal.

AP discounts on HHN tickets are the best around.

Thanks Metro, but what is the Stay and Scream? Is that a FL resident thing only?

Metro, thanks for the Annual Pass tip. We might just sign up for that since it looks like they are having a VIP hour early entry for annual passholders next week!

One question looking at the horror nights annual pass discount site it asks you to log in. Do you know if I will be able to log in right after I buy my annual pass online or will I have to call them up and order it over the phone? I'm assuming that the passes don't get activated til we arrive next week right?

Thanks for all your help everyone.

S & S is for anyone in the park prior to closing and has a valid ticket to HHN for that night. At 5pm, you go to the holding area and wait until 6pm or so and then you are released into the park. Several houses are open early but you will have a head start on the general public crowds outside. They aren't released until 6:30pm so that's quite a head start.

The AP will not be activated until you enter through the gate. You can try to order online but it might not let you purchase so you could call them.

What site is everyone using to purchase tickets? I'm on Undercover tourist and all I see is the 3 Day Park to Park ticket with HHN combo. We are going from October 18th -OCt 21st and wanted to do Stay and Scream. Do we need to buy a different type of ticket for S&S?

The only requirement for S & S is you have to have your theme park tickets purchased first. You can add on once you have those.

I believe that the Undercover Tourist ticket includes the Stay and Scream feature. I've been asking about it and hope that I understood it correctly.

Is this correct?

Again...if you're buying the theme park tickets and HHN ticket, you will be able to use S & S. There is no separate S & S ticket in addition to the HHN ticket. If the UT tickets include both theme park tickets and HHN tickets, then you're safe.

That's what I thought but I wasn't sure what the terminology would be. I've been looking at way too many ticket options. ;)

I think getting express is personal preference as we got FFP w/express. Be aware that when you do stay and scream or early annual pass entry, it will still be light out for at least 2 hours. IMO it completely takes away from the experience.

Our first night will be tomorrow (Sat) and we plan on getting to the park at dusk (around 730), because we want the best experience we can have. Some would say if you have FFP why would you want express seeing that you can go 20 times. My point is that for $100 more to have a minimal wait times, regardless if it's 15 minutes in standby or 150 minutes.

I agree 100% - for me it ruins the atmosphere and the experience. We get to go 4 time though with express so I do as you do and wait till dusk.

We did a passholder early entry a few years back before we moved to Orlando, and it was hot and the sun was beating through the wood/etc into the houses. There was something a bit off, like going trick r treating with all the little kids that come out early with their parents.

HHN is my favorite event that Orlando has to offer and I want the full on experience. If you want to save some money, and only have one night to go, then by all means do the stay and scream, but otherwise I think you really lose out on the whole vibe.
