Did you ever use disney to take your photos for you and what did you think? Also I hear of some outside people will do the same at the parks or resorts any help will be good.

I've never done this. I'll just bump this back to page one for you and hopefully someone can answer your question.

I would love to know the answer to this too. Just the two of us went in September and it was so hard to get pictures of the two of us because we had to bother a total stranger, or find a CM who didn't look incredibly busy. We usually found other couples who we could then return the favor for.

Personally, I don't think I've ever been annoyed by someone asking me to take their picture for them. It's a nice guesture and everyone has always been willing to return the favor. My DH hates it when I ask people to take our picture, but if I don't, I'd have no proof that I was ever there!

Unless it was a special occassion, I wouldn't spend the money to have a professional take pictures. Just ask...nobody will say no and they always come out just fine!

Are you referring to the photos they take of you when you enter the parks? Or just photos of you with your own camera? Like the other poster said, when asked almost everyone is more than happy to take photos, including CMs. I know I'm always happy to do so for someone else. Most times the pictures turn out fine.

As for the professional shots at the entrances to the parks, I've bought a few of them over the years that were really good, but unless they're a great shot of me and whomever I'm with, I pass, they're expensive for a mediocre picture.

ITA. They were particularly low quality this trip. The people we stopped (or the super nice people/cm's who offered) took much better pictures with our digital camera than the pictures taken in front of each park's Icon. And I would never feel bothered by being asked to take someone's picture!

I hired Jane from Gift of a Lifetime to take pictures of our re-hitch at the Garden Grill in May of 2003. Since DW and I were going to be alone on this trip we really needed someone to do this for us. Jane was with us for 45 to 60 minutes and took 2 rolls of film. She left the completed rolls with us for developing. The whole thing cost us about $100.00 plus cost to develop 2 rolls of film.

P.S. Jane takes great pictures.

My DD was just asking about this same thing we will be going (back again :) ) to DW in Feb for DGS 1st BD and we were wondering about getting a "professional " picture taken. Something posed, like you get at BabiesRUS or JC Penney's, but maybe with a character . I guess they don't offer anything like that or one of our Dis friends would have posted about it. Thought maybe there might be a photo store on Main St where they would do this.

When we went in 2000, there was a place in DTD that was a studio setting with a painted backdrop of Cinderella's Castle and they had a live Mickey character with whom you would be photographed. Look into it, it may still be there. The photo turned out great, by the way, and made great gifts for relatives.

You can hire a Park Photographer. I had a group I wanted photographed, and the sitting was going to be $250 (DVC gets a 10% discount; AP probably does too.) I think it has gone up to $295 now. But the price is also determined by how many people. That was for a group of 5. It was for a 1 or 1.5 hour sitting at the location of your choice (park or resort - subject to availability), and you got all the proofs from the sitting. But the photos are copyrighted. I have not done it yet, just checked into it several times. I "think" I called the recreation line for information. I've seen some info on here recently. You might do a search on wdw photography .... or check the weddings forum. As far as the character, I don't think that is allowed.

Is anyone familiar with the place in DTD that Anim8ed is referring to? That is exactly what we were looking for :earsboy:
