Photos expiration date when only one AP has Memory Maker

My partner and I always go to the parks together. Only my AP has Memory Maker. One of us will tap the magic band after the photos were taken.
I thought all photos expire after 1 year. But I just realized some of our early October photos disappeared from my album.
Is it a glitch? Or is that because those not tapped by my magic band would expire in 45 days?

It isn't a glitch. Only if you use your Magic Band is it good for a year. I have Memory Maker on my AP but DH does not. I always make sure to download the photos that we scan with his Magic Band right away. We also try to make sure we scan mine whenever we are togther. Sorry about your lost photos.

Thanks for the info! That makes sense.
The only change happened in the past months is that I set up another MDE account (we share one before). Maybe it played a role as well.
Good news is that I downloaded the good photos to my phone during last trip. (And now I can’t see any thus can only assume there were no more good ones lol)
