Photopass

We will be coming next week. Do I buy the photopass early like at WDW or just by the day? Is the only way to get it is by the Genie+? New to DisneyLand…

You don't have to buy it early. There really isn't a benefit of doing so at DLR right now. If you buy Genie +, it will be included. Even if you don't plan on buying Genie + now, you could change your mind and wind up getting it for one or more of your trip days, so no reason to get Photopass in advance and possibly double pay. I'm not sure how it has changed since Genie +, but I can't imagine you wouldn't be able to buy the photos without having Genie plus. They want to sell you things. In October ,ou could buy each day-or unless something has changed even the one week version after your trip. We went in October and I was very glad we did not buy ahead of time like I usually do. There were less photographers so I wound up not buying the full week version. There weren't as many characters with photographers since they are all distanced meet and greets now. We liked the distanced meet and greets, but did not have near as many photopass pics as usual. I just bought a couple of days. You can also try to load up taking all the photopass location pics you want on one day--- look at them in the evening and see if you are happy with them. Also the per day photopass price was close to the Genie + price, so you could always have one person get Genie + every day and then load all the pics on their account.
