I'm trying to understand this new system for PhotoPass. We plan to visit this fall for 4 days at the parks and would like to have the PhotoPass for all 4 days. Am I correct in that I now have to make 4 separate purchases of the "One Day" variety? Seems odd. I didn't go to the end of the process for the purchase, but do you select the day to assign the PhotoPass to? The setup of this new process is just poorly designed. I should at the very least be able to select the number of "One Day" passes I want and perhaps select the dates to apply said passes, rather than make 4 separate purchases. I'm not sure what they were thinking on this one.

Yes. They only sell a 1 day pass and it is $39. You get a photopass card then scan it into the app and your pictures for each day will show up. You can wait and purchase after the fact so you can see all the pictures and decide which day you want to buy.

Take as many pictures as you can because the cost is $39 per day whether you have one picture or 101.

Thank you for the replies. I guess I just don't understand how to use multiple "One Day" passes. Do I need to activate a pass on the app each day I'm there? I want to pre-purchase these now as we always get out money's worth.

I went to the page for purchasing and don't see an option to buy 4 at one time. You can just purchase one each day, or at the end of the day, if you decide you want that day. Or if you want to pre-pay I guess you can just do 4 seperate transactions.

The easiest thing to me would be to purchase each day when you are there.

Download the app and scan your pp card and you will see each day's photos that are available. There is no reason to pre-purchase. You don't need a new card for each day and you can actually have them scan your phone if you want to do it that way.

Your first day/picture get a Photopass card from the photographer. Link that card to the Disneyland app.

Then use that same card (or even the barcode on your phone if you link the Photopass card to it) each time a Photopass photographer takes your picture.

You will need to manually add ride photos, so make sure to take a picture of the ride photo code. (For instance on Radiator Springs Racers)

At the end of your 4 day trip, purchase 4 individual one day passes via the website. There is no incentive to buying early, and just in case you don't have a lot of pictures taken 1 day you can choose which day to buy.

HTH!

If you are dining in the parks at a character meal where they take your photo, you have to have purchased Photopass for that day in order for the group photo to be added. That was the only day we purchased it in the morning, b/c we had the Plaza character meal, and at the time they were letting you add it in the shop later on in the day, but no longer.

I had originally planned to do the "wait and see which days have the best photos" thing, but once we were there, I realized it made more sense to just pick two days to make a point of getting a lot of photos taken. Otherwise, we'd likely have stopped for photos more often throughout our 4 day trip and talked ourselves into buying all 4 days! It was actually somewhat easier to do it this way with our 7yo, who isn't a fan of stopping to have his photo taken, but could be told "tomorrow we won't stop for photos like this" and cooperated more with waiting to see characters. Surprisingly, approaching it from this perspective of trying to concentrate the photography in a couple days led to some great shots I wouldn't have stopped for otherwise. There are so many photopass photographers wandering around random areas who will be happy to take lots of great shots of you from different angles and in different poses. If I didn't want to make sure I got my money's worth, I would have passed by them, too, but since I was eagle-eye spotting them - we got some great family photos in Radiator Springs as the sun was setting, etc.

My experience was that the printed dining photos and the download code are part of a package ($30 or $40). I specifically asked the CMs at both Plaza Inn and Goofy's Kitchen and was told I had to buy the package to obtain the download. It was not included in Photopass automatically in the daily pass purchase.

I also sent an inquiry to the Photopass support team and was told "photopass IDs are not generated for dining location photos unless a dining photo is purchased." :guilty:

In any event for character meals, ask the Photopass person to also take a picture with your phone/camera. They are more than happy to oblige.

It sounds like they got a lot stricter! We were there in April, and the one-day thing was relatively new. We definitely had our Plaza photos included in the one-day. Sheesh, you would think that they would still let you do that... that's ridiculously pricey to pay for the dining photos AND photopass in one day!

I mentioned this in the other thread in reply to you, but this is in contradiction to the written policy fine print.

The dining photos are included in the day pass and the APs with Photopass. Others have reported being able to get them added without an extra purchase. But there are those like yourself that have run into being told it's not.

Trust me if they try to tell me I can't have my download code when I next go back, I will be pulling out the information that states it's included.

They do. It's still in the fine print it's included. Some CMs are just misinformed.

People who run into being denied the code need to push back (politely, don't berate a poor CM who is just trying to do their job) and get the situation corrected.

Thank you again for the replies. I think this is exactly what I needed, but still want to pre-purchase the 4 days. I've sent an email off to Disney for details.

As I said, that was my experience. After a few minutes of discussion with both CMs, we decided it really wasn't worth fighting over. Park time was ticking away after all! :)

The plaza inn picture wasn't with a character just taken on the way in, and the Goofy's kitchen picture I had a duplicate taken with my camera. So no love lost.

Hopefully the OP will come back and share their experience; or when you visit next you will let us know.

No, I get that. Just it's disconcerting the handful of people I've seen with this experience since it's incorrect according to what is supposed to happen :(. There are others who have reported having no trouble getting the picture added.

There's very little I push, but this is definitely one I would push if just to make sure more CMs are aware it is included for those these pictures matter to have. And if Disney is going to make me have Photopass, I'm going to use it, lol!

I don't do the dining experiences much, but oddly I am doing Minnie's on the 17th. So I'll comment if I run into any issues :)

Can you link more than one of these cards, from the same day, to the app? For instance, if your party was split up part of the day, could you use different cards, but combine them into one Photopass purchase for the day?

Yes, I am fairly certain that you can. but I have not verified by trying. You simply link the card to your Disney account by scanning it with your phone so would imagine you could link as many as you would like.

The one day option worked out fine for us. Of the 3 days we were there we just happened to run into a LOT of Photopass photographers on only one of the days. We also did a ton of ride pictures that day that I added. I have like a cajillion photos from one day and very few of the others.

Thanks for the info. From some older threads, I was starting to get the impression that you couldn't add the ride photos, but it sounds like that's not the case.

Yes you can link multiple Photopass cards. We ended up with 3 cards linked to the account.

With multiple cards and groups, be sure to review your pictures carefully to make sure they are all accounted for. We were missing A&E meet and greet pics and needed to request to have them added. It was a simple process but the pictures would have been lost otherwise.

And yes, you can definitely add ride photos. We rode RSR and then added the pic to the account via the code on the screen at the end of the ride.
