I love to scrapbook but have never done digital scrapbooking. I am going to do 8x8s for our DDs and am looking forward to that.

But also - I am wondering about the photopass book. I thought it might be a fun way to try digital, and get my (own) book done quickly.

Has anyone gotten this? Is the cover high quality? Is it easy to use? Are the pages pre-made? If so, are they cute?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

We preordered the CD and photobook for our trip from this month. I just ordered the photobook, it was pretty easy to do. You pick what kind of background you want, how many pictures you want to be on that page (1-4) and then drag and click. I have never done any digital before so I dont have anything to compare. I should get the book this week, I hope. From what I have read on other threads, most people are happy with the finished product.

We were at WDW in January and I also prepurchased the Photopass CD. It was great to come home and apply all of the graphics and then order the CD. Now that I have the CD I am doing an online scrapbook through Shutterfly.

There are pros/cons to either .... here are my thoughts...

Photopass Book:
Pros ..... adorable backgrounds, very Disney
Cons .... more expensive, limited to 4 photos/page, no spaces to journal or even caption photos.

Shutterfly or Snapfish:
Pros ...... better prices, often run sales, myriad of choices for layout designs, more photos per page offered as well as spaces to journal or place captions.
Cons ..... backgrounds are colorful and nice, but not specific Disney (but if you have PP photos, you can still have Disney graphics in your photos)

With the PP CD, you have the ability to use both PP and personal photos in any of the above mentioned photo books. For us, I like to get as many memories into each book as possible, so I like being able to place several photos on a page. Even so, most of my books end up being around 40 pages long!

I've used both Snapfish and Shutterfly. They are very similar. Shutterfly does offer a bit more in the line of layout choices, but Snapfish has better tools for modifying photos and better sales. After having used Snapfish for 3 books, it has been nice to try something different .... though I likely will go back to Snapfish after this book is done.

Hope that helps! I have amassed quite a collection of scrapping supplies, but have found that with online scrapping may just be the best way for me to actually accomplish something. ;)

Thanks so very much foir all of this good information!

I was wondering about no way to journal in PP book. In the very small pictures of the book that they show on-line you can see writing. I was excited that I could do the journaling that way. It's ridiculous of they don't offer any journaling.

And about the supplies.....:rotfl: I know exactly what you mean. I do love collecting supplies! :lmao:This is one reason that I was looking forward to doing it on-line - getting it done!

Well, I may be wrong about the journaling then. :confused3 When I checked through it a couple of months ago, I did not see anything other than photos, but maybe there is a way around that? I'll be anxious to see if someone else responds to this question.

Better get back over to Shutterfly and finish my book! :surfweb: Glory, hallelujah, I may just get the book DONE while my kids still remember the vacation!! :rotfl2:

With Snapfish and Shutterfly can you upload your own photos for background on pages or can you only use their backgrounds and layouts? I am a digi scrapbook novice....

Thanks!

The photo book I did this past month arrived last week. It turned out great. I was really pleased with it. Yes, you can journal. But, you have to pick out a layout that has a journal spot. Not all page layouts have a journal area. Also, just a side note, when you complete the book and go to order, if you did not journal in a page that had a journal box a note popped up saying your book was not complete did you want to still order. I had to call and see what this meant, they said if you did not journal on a page that had a box, you would get this message.
