Does anyone have more information on this? Do they take pictures in set locations? I haven't been to Disney since 2000 (but was in Disneyland last year) and I don't remember anyone taking pictures anywhere but when you first enter the park. I am wondering if I am in the park for 4 days, how many pictures we would end up with and if the CD would be worth buying.

Thanks,
Jessica

There are Photopass photographers set up in popular picture places (ie. in front of the castle, in front of epcot, in from of mgm, etc.) and also it other places throughout the parks. The first time you go up to one of them they will give you a card, similiar to a credit card. That is now your card that you give to each photopass photographer when you want your picture taken. They swipe it and hand it back to you so that all your pictures are 'attached' to one account. Some people suggest writing your name on it with a permanent marker to make sure it is yours you get back since they all look alike. You don't have to buy the pictures in the parks, you can go online after the fact and buy them there. We only got about 12 pictures taken in 4 different spots on our last trip so it wasn't worth it to buy the CD. However some people get tons of pics taken, we just didn't see that many photopass people. It is a nice touch though. They will also take a picture with your camera so that your whole family can be in it and have a great shot. I hope this helps you out, if you have any other questions shoot me a PM and I'll try and help you out more.

there are photopass photographers with all of the characters too. We will be getting the $99 CD this year because the pictures on the photopass expire after 30 days so if you ever want a copy of one of the pics you are out of luck. I used all of my originals in my scrapbook and then after people saw the book asked for a copy of some of the pictures but by then my photopass expired. Plus, buying the pics from Disney is expensive. I spent well over $160 buying pics off the photopass when I could have bought the CD for $99 and printed the pictures at home for free or at walmart for 24 cents!

We were there for 8 days and got 72 pictures. Like the previous post said they are in front of the park icons ie Cinderella's Castle, Tree of Life, Space Ship Earth and Scorcer's Hat. We also got our picture taken in front of Hollywood Tower of Terror and just outside Animal Kingdom in front of the sign.

Most of our pictures are from locations where there were characters signing autographs. County Bounty in Toontown, Epcot Character Connection in Innoventions West, and various locations at Disney Studios. I suspect they were probably at Camp Minnie Mickey in Animal Kingdom as well but we didn't go down there this time. A cast member at County Bounty told me they are trying to hire up to 300 additional photographers so they can be at more locations in the parks.

The photo's on the rides like Splash Mountain that you look at at the end of the ride are NOT included.

When you get home you can look them up online using the number on the back of the card. They have borders and other enhancements that you can add to the pictures at no charge from the internet but NOT from the CD you can purchase at the park. As an example, if you get your picture taken with Minnie Mouse you can add her signature down in the corner of the picture. The pictures on the internet that you can add the enhancements to are only available for 30 days.

We purchased the CD for $99 but I'm not so sure I would do this again. Like the previous post said they will take your picture using your own camera if you ask them. I purchased six 5 x 7 prints off the internet with the enhancements and got one free because of the package we had so I ended up spending a lot of money. On the other hand, we have a CD with 72 picutres on it that we can print off of if we choose that will last forever(or at least while i'm alive).

If I was you I would do this. I would go ahead and get the pictures taken with the photopass camera and then ask them to take a picture with yours as well. Getting the pictures taken is free so you won't be out anything. The last day you are there you can take your card to the County Bounty, Grand Floridian, Downtown Disney, and I believe maybe a couple of other locations and look at the pictures you have on the photopass card. Looking at the pictures is free also so you are still not out any money. If you decide you got $99 worth of pictures I'd get the CD. If you see a few you like but don't want to spend the $99 then you can purchase them there without enhancements or purchase them online when you get home and add the fun stuff.

The pictures I purchased were ones of the kids with their favorite characters so I added the signatures onto those and I am getting frames so they can put them in their rooms for a memory of the trip. I also got a couple of our entire family and added Walt Disney World 2006 on them.

The nice thing about photo pass is everyone from your group can be in the pictures. Sorry this answer was so long but I hope it helps you. :sunny:

We were there for 7 days last week and took 57 pictures and bought the CD. We loved it! We took pictures near Rock 'n' Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror as well as the standard locations on Main Street and in front of Spaceship Earth. It was so fun and I just love having all of them. I liked it because sometimes in a picture one person is laughing real hard or something and you might not normally get that picture because they think they looked silly or something - well now you have that cute picture! I think it was well worth the $99!

I've heard that you can combine more than one photo pass on a CD, is this true? Like in case you forget your original photo pass card and have to get another--so that you don't have to buy 2 CD's. My sis and I are doing a family trip and plan on combining our photo passes into one CD and splitting the cost.
