PhotoPass+, worth it?

Worth it for the ride photos alone. As far as the DLR photogs... I usually just have them use my gear as I can control the pics better if they are shot on my equipment (and I have better equipment).

I've tried this but so many times when I get my camera back I see they've switched it from manual to auto!
Plus I forget often to quickly turn off my back button ficus so sometimes the pictures they take on my camera are nut in focus, but that's my fault. I do love having both my camera AND the PP pictures!

I also think that the photographers take more photos and pay attention more with PP+. Multiple times on our July trip, I would notice a big discrepancy between how many photos were taken of the group ahead of us and how many were taken of our group. Like with Anna and Elsa. They know that many regular people are not going to do anything with the PP card they scan and give them, but PP+ obviously place a value on the photography experience and I think they work hard to make that worth it.

I make sure to get all settings dialed in and request that they just frame the shot and shoot ( a lot of shutters)

I agree it's a great value, although not a must for our every trip if you go frequently. We went for 5 days June, 2014 with our 2 kids, my parents, and their older two grandkids. I bought the PP+. Because its valid for 14 days, we were also able to use it when we went kidless for our anniversary too. We got a lot of photos of the kids with different characters and many more. I was able to edit them as others said. You can add borders or make them black and white. We also added all our ride photos and got a breakfast photo. It really is a good value if you think you will buy a photo or two anyway. The pictures they sell at the park are expensive and add up quickly, so prepaying for the Photopass + is a great way to save money and get a lot more for the price.

I'll also add that you get some stock photos of characters and locations when you first order the package. And then when you get pictures taken in certain locations or with certain characters they automatically attach more. So when we had pictures taken in Carsland they added some stock photos of Carsland. When we got pictures with the princesses, several pictures of the princess (and in some cases her prince) in front of the castle were added. It's a nice bonus.

I love the photopass photos too! We had so much fun! By the end of our trip the photographers would tell us where they were going to be so we would visit them. They enjoy people that will do the silly poses and clown around. We have some great memories and we will from our next trip too.

I bought PP+ once at WDW. It was nice, but
I've found that I prefer to make the photobook on the photopass website.
I really enjoy customizing the entire book.
I can fit between anywhere from 120-160 Photopass pics on the 20 pages depending on how big or small I make them.
The price is $79.99 but there is almost always a sale or discount on making the book.
The photopass + is a great value. I just prefer to make the photo pass book instead.

I have a photopass question...
We're doing Minnie and Friends breakfast on our first day. That means that we won't have had time to get our lanyard yet. Anybody know a way around this problem? We'll be there the night before, but not going into the park yet (will visit Downtown Disney District, check out trader sam's, etc.) Why in the world don't they have an activation process that is outside the berm?

Interesting! I'm thinking of adding the PP+ to our trip thanks to you guys! Mom and I will be visiting for 3 days in about a month. Maybe I'll tell her we could pay half and half because she thinks it's not worth it!

I have a question tho! How many pictures are you allowed to take with this PP+? As many as you want? Can you keep them all? Thank u ~

Well after hearing all of these response and getting a resounding yes we should get it, so that is my purchase of the night.

Thanks for replying!!

However... I think I won't buy the package. I wanted to get it so mom and I could enjoy quality photos of our 1st DL trip in over 12 years but I was reading some other reviews and people were complaining that there aren't many pp+ stops in the DLR. Just a few in DL and some more in CA. They were also saying that many of the photographers aren't "professional", so the pics don't look that amazing... :C

I really don't know what to do because it is a bit expensive and we only have tickets for 3 days. We want to enjoy the parks as much as we can and if the price is going to be worth it then we'd have to actually look for the photographers and take our time when taking the picture. And like I said in another post, the dollar in my country is really expensive right now so I'm going to pay almost double for the package. That's why I wonder if its really worth it!

I'm confused!!

They should be accommodating. What I've read before is that you tell them you have it preordered and they'll hold the pictures for you. You should be able to go pick up your pass after breakfast, it is right next door, and then go back and get your photos by showing them the pass.

Someone in your party could run by the camera store when it opens to grab your lanyard. It doesn't take long. Or even before, depending on what time your reservation is.

How do you purchase PP+? We have never been to Disneyland and our first trip is in May next year.
Buying a photo pass is easy- all of the photographers carry the cards, they will give one when your first photo is taken. You just keep track of the card and use it over and over. You have 30 days to log in and purchase the pass!

Per the instructions when I did mine, for PP+, you MUST purchase it 14 days prior to the start of your vacation. You need to be physically mailed the voucher and must activate it from day 1 of vacation.

As an aside, I was able to link regular PP from my previous trip, and get "free" DL/content for them on my PP+ which occurred within 30 days of the previous trip if I recall.

That's if you want the pre-order discount. If you are okay paying $99 for it (rather than the $69 for the pre-order), you can buy it when you're there. Any previous PhotoPass pictures you've had taken can be added to your account.
