Where can you exchange the voucher you receive in the mail for your photopass card? Are those places open during MM entry?

WE will be using our MM our first day into the park, is it worth it to get the photo pass card right away or not waste the time and just ride rides for that first hour?

I can't remember if the place is open during MM, but most of Main Street is open, so I wouldn't be surprised if the Photopass location is open. When I picked-up my card, it was very fast (a few minutes), but it depends a lot on what you are planning to do during your MM. Personally, I would probably gauge the line and make a choice at that point. If there is no one in line, I'd stop by and get my lanyard. If there is a line, I'd wait until later. If you happen to go on a ride with a ride photo, just note down the number and you can go back and add it to your card later. If you go to a character meet and greet (with a Photopass photographer), keep the card they give you and add it to the PP+ account later on and the pictures should be included.

I read on another thread recently that sometimes the photo shop on Main St is open during MM. On our last trip I think I went in there around 11am and nobody else was there so it only took a couple minutes to get my card and lanyard. Also take a picture with your phone of the back of your card in case it gets lost. Have a great time!

if it gets lost, can you get a new one?

You should be able to get a replacement, but make sure you snap a photo or jot down the account number on the back of the card. This way they can easily link your photos pre-loss with the new card.

I have a question about this as well. We have reservation for breakfast at Storytellers before the park opens, on our first day. Will we be able to add our pictures after activating the card when we enter the park?

We ate at Surf's Up prior to park entry and exchanged our voucher with the photo pass photographer there. It took awhile, so I would recommend doing this as you enter the restaurant. If you want to be sure, call Storytellers ahead to double check. I would imagine this is a fairly common thing as many people schedule a character meal on a travel day or before park opening on their first day.

Can I add to the questions? We are travelling with family and I plan to purchase Photopass before our trip. If our group splits up, can we add any photos the other's have taken to our Photopass account? And if we can, how does it work? Is it like WDW where they would just get a card from the photographer and we can then add it to our account?

That is exactly how it works if you split up. Just have them grab the card (or ride photo number) and add to the account later. The only time you absolutely need the photo pass lanyard is if you are getting the picture packages at character dining.

You can either take your cards to the counter at the photo store's in the parks or you can add the card number to your account when you return home. If you participate in Jedi Training Academy or luck into a PP photographer snapping on ride photos they will recommend you take those cards to the stores in the parks so you can have them only add the photos of your group. The little cards make nice souvenirs as well, we have a couple with different designs based on the location we received them. Great for scrap booking!

Yes you can. They just get another photopass card and you put it on your account online later.

Hi guys,
Just wondering when you get your photo pass card how does it all work. Does the card have a barcode on it? This would make it easy to have the card on my phone.
Cheers
Adam

Has anyone ever tried having a picture added to their card with a photo of the card on their phone? I'm thinking of time when our group will be split up. TIA!

I believe the card has an AR code on the back. I was hoping to snap a photo of my lanyard from the recent trip, but I can not for the life of me find the darn thing. Theoretically a photo of the code should be scannable, but I am not sure what the actual rules would be in practice. The only time you have to have the lanyard is at a character meal where you get actual prints of the photos, and I am not sure if they would take a snapped photo of the code or not. I would recommend calling guest services ahead of time and asking. All other times, if you split it is easy enough to just have the photographer hand you one of the cards they carry to be added later (at the photo counters in park or from the convenience of your own internet connection).

Great info thanks. My beep n go will work with Qr codes. Cheers.

If the camera shop is not open or if you don't want to waste your magic morning you can just grab a regular photos card from the first photographer you see and use. Then when you get to the camera shop and you get the actual photopass + card you can have them just load the photos over to your new card.

Yes we have added photos to our card from another card. You can do it online but usually we just go into the camera shop at the end of the day and transfer them over.

Is there a place in DCA to get your pass and lanyard?

Also, will the photographers take any extra time Or do any special shots if you have the photo pass plus?

Thank you!!

Yes there is a photo shop in DCA, it's on Buena Vista St when you first enter on the right hand side. If the photo CM isn't busy I've found that they will take extra time with you. Also if you seem to be having fun with the photos that tends to help. We stopped on the bridge to Paradise Pier, wanted a pic of us kissing with the kids hiding their eyes, the CM was great about taking the time to set up the shot, also did something similar over in DL off to the right of the castle (that tends to be a less busy spot for pics).
