So I haven't been on the DIS in a while, too busy at work & home! :sad1: I'm going to Disney Nov. 13-Nov. 22 and so I finally started looking for a Photopass group I could join for my trip...WHAT happened? I can't find a group anywhere??
I've done the photopass sharing for years and LOVED it, did it go away or what? I can't afford a $99 cd!
Anyone help?

No Photopass shares for $$ are permitted on the DIS any longer.

There is a group on Facebook that appears to be active for photopass shares. I think I also read on a thread that they are allowed on the Tour Guide Mike site if you have purchased that service.

Why were they banned? I didn't do one because I was worried Disney might not "approve" them. We are going to DW with 2 of our cousins and their families soon and planned on sharing - we'll be together most of the time! I just want to make sure we don't violate any rules.

I believe the reason that the Dis board has banned posts looking for PhotoPass shares is because people have gotten burned, since unfortunately some people aren't honest. But there's no reason you can't share with family and/or friends.

Disney doesn't prohibit PhotoPass shares, but doing a share with strangers is always a dicey proposition; you never know if you will get ripped off by a dishonest coordinator, or if you'll get an incompetent coordinator who will screw things up, which is why PhotoPass shares were banned on the DIS.

If you want to participate in a share, the best thing to do is gather a group of folks that you know and trust to split the CD.

Yeah,

I'd really hate to take a chance on losing $10-$15:rolleyes1
Another useful feature of a mostly honest and helpful community shot down. I guess it's another reason that Facebook is more useful than forums.

We always share with our group that is traveling together, usually 15-25 of us. I think just finding strangers to share with would be kind of iffy. I mean everyone on the share has rights to all the pictures. No thank you! I want to be in control of what is done with my grandchildrens pictures. So risking a $10-$15 investment is nothing to strangers have the kids photo's to photoshop or do what ever with.

We find the $99 disc to be an excellent value for us.

You can still join shares on Facebook. There is a Photopass Share group page. It is a pretty active page and there are lots of shares going on. :)
