Fiance and I are going on our honeymoon to the world and I was thinking the photopass package might be a great addition to help us remember our honeymoon. I have been trying to read up about it, but was just wondering about everyone's experience with using it. Is it easy to use? I was just assuming we would get the pre-purchased package. Is the quality of the books worth the price? and info about this would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I love photopass! I think the photo CD is a great value, but I'm not crazy about the photobook. I think it's extremely expensive for what you get and you can definitely get a better deal buying one somewhere else like shutterfly or blurb.

So once you get the CD you can use the pictures for anything? I didn't know if there was a copyright issue on that at all. That would be great because I love shutterfly!

A copyright release is included on the CD, so you can do anything you want with the pictures. Shutterfly is great, but if you want to make a photobook that's bigger than 20 pages, I would check out blurb. I made an 80 page photobook at blurb for $45, including shipping.

WOW! That is a great deal! Thank you for the tip. I hadn't heard of blurb before, I will have to check it out.

Make sure to pre-order the CD before your arrival. It's $99 instead of $149. I can't say enough good things about photo pass.

Thank you for the tip :) If you pre-order, do you get that photopass card ahead of time, or do you still get it from the photographer after the first picture that they take of you?

There is normally a photo pass card in your Disney package that arrives prior to your trip. You can also just get one from the first photo pass session you attend. Make sure you use the same card throughout your trip. You register the card number to your online profile once you arrive back home to retrieve your images.

We always take a picture of the card in case it gets lost ;)

Awesome, thank you! Yes i have heard from SOO many people on here to take pictures of everything. Where you parked, KTTW cards, gift card numbers, ect. I am way to over organized not to do that! LOL

you can use more than one card and register it to your account when you get home.
We always email the card numbers to ourselves so we have them in case the cards get lost.
one thing I did not notice the first year we went but if you have photos from a character dinner look for a photopass number somewhere in your package it might even be on the photos them selves.
Get the photograghers to take lots of different poses too. we don't get the photobook.
I ordered the prepackage with the photo book one year and ended up getting that part refunded as I found it was really hard to get it looking right. I got a photo book at costco.

If they send you a card in the mail, I wouldn't use it. Using a pre-registered card shortens the amount of time you have to work with your photos.

Make sure you use the same card throughout your trip.

^it isn't necessary to use the same card for your entire trip. In fact, you could use a different card for every single picture if you wanted to. It would make keeping track of the cards a pain in the rear, though, so I wouldn't recommend it.

It is on the photo. The code generally starts with EVT and is (I think) in the upper right-hand corner.

Thanks for the help everyone! I think I would pre-order the CD, but not the book. I have made them on shutterfly before and LOVE them, and heard this new one "blurb." so i think i would rather go with something I am familiar with.

Make sure you search for coupon codes, too. Right now blurb has one out for 20% off. Shutterfly has them all the time, too.

Popping in late but wanted to share my recent experience.

WE LOVED IT!!

Went Sept 2010 with DH and we didn't do the photopass. There is only ONE photo of us as this wonderful couple took our pic for us.

Went Sept 2011 with DH SIL BIL and we did the photo pass and purchased the CD in advance. Got new cards each day. Came home and loaded the numbers on the page and all our pics popped up. Spent about 2 weeks playing w/ borders and editing the photos. Just got the CD yesterday and it is wonderful!!! Wonderful pics of all of us and as couples to remember our great trip.

You will not regret doing this - I am sold and will do each time in the future.

Have a great honeymoon!!!

WE LOVE THE PHOTOPASS!!!!!!

Our last trip was a huge family one... my sister her her kids & hubby, my family (kid & hubby) and our parents. We shared the CD price & put all the pictures on there... all I had to do was copy the CD & everyone had their own. :) We would get my sisters family pics, just her kids, my family pics, just my daughter, added the parents in there.... then just the parents & grand kids, etc. all at 1 spot! We had over 400 pics on the CD!!! :)

I know for this trip you won't be able to do it... but in the future if you go with friends or family share the CD. Everyone gets their own cards & gets their own pictures & then in the end you can add as many cards to the CD as you want. Therefore its less $ for everyone & you share the CD!

First off, I have no idea what Photo Pass is, so please, someone send me a link where I can read up on it.

I wouldn't mind spending a Gift Card on something that would give us pictures from our upcoming 30th Anniversary trip.

During our honeymoon almost 30 years ago, husband spent way too much time taking pictures, and there is a very telling photo of me at Disney with a look on my face that says, Enough with the pictures!

And we have no pictures of us as a couple on the trip, as back then, I was too shy to ask people to take pictures of us. Now, I'm not, but if there's someone there who does it for a living, I'd rather use them than interrupt someone's expensive vacation.

we love having the photopass! it gets great pictures, and you can buy cd's of your pictures so you can keep them all, or you can just order a few. If you want to buy a cd though, you should the photopass a lot, because it's $99, and if you only take 20 pictures, it toally isn't worth it. but if you take tons of pictures, like my family, it's definately worth it. Just a quick tip, when you get your photopass card, take a picture of the barcode number with your phone or personal camera, so if you you lose the card, you can still retrieve the pictures that were on it. you can always get another card for free from a photographer.
