Photopass+ Question

We leave in just over 3 weeks and one of the last few things we need to decide (asap) is whether or not we are going to do photopass+. I really like the idea of being able to be in the photos but I am not someone at all interested in the cheesy aspect of a lot of the photos I have seen. I am not interested in the magic shots, or the borders, etc. I am a photographer myself, and worry I will end up disappointed in the quality, but at the same time, I know if I dont have it, I will probably be in very few of the photos.

Any thoughts to help me make a decision?

First off check out this review if you haven't already... it will lay out the value of it pretty clearly.

....you don't have to do the magic shots... or even if they do some, you are not paying any extra for them, so not a big deal.

I never do any of the borders... not my thing, but I still find the PP+ price of $69 pre-ordered to be a real value. When I consider that ride photos and any other shots I want to buy are $15 each if purchased in the park... in my book PP+ pays for itself.

We did this for our trip to WDW this year and absolutely loved it. Every other trip I am in hardly any of the photos because I am always behind the camera. The ride photos and character shots you receive as part of the + package cover the cost of the pass as it is. The quality of the photographers varied, but overall we were really happy with it. We made sure we took every opportunity with the PHOTOPASS photographers when we saw them in the parks getting as many photos as we could. We highly recommend it! Have a great trip!

If photos are important to you (and I bet they are), then I'd suggest doing it. In the big picture of a Disneyland trip, it's not a huge risk.

I'm a bargain traveler, but photos are so important to me, that it's a no-brainer. I've never done it before, but I'm super excited to see how it goes.

Have fun!

it is totally worth it, returned recently from our vacation, and had 311 pics on our photo-pass +, and yes it is possible?! :thumbsup2 with maybe 5 or so magic shots. Came home after vacation, went to the website, did any type of editing or boarders, entered the voucher number, and had them downloaded to my computer. It was a fairly large file of pictures, so they sent them to us in 4 separate download folders, Now i have the rights to these photo's, and if i wish can make my own 8x10 for my own use at home. Also went to x2 character meals, and they literally brought the 8x10 to our table, it truly is a great deal, heck.. normal cost for those photo's are $14 each. now i have all the ride pics, character pics, and scenic pics for $69??? This thing is totally worth it!!

I say get it! If you have your own editing software, you can always jazz up any photos you want. Plus if you like ride photos it will pay for itself, btw you can get a new photo every time you ride. If you ride ToT 3 times, you can get pictures each time. It is nice to be in the pictures not just behind the camera. I have noticed that many of the photographers will go above and beyond for PP+ holders too.

In addition to what everyone else said, we in Carsland on Monday and the photographer actually walked around with us for about 15 minutes. He took lots of photos at the various places and also pointed out a lot of sights/Hidden Mickeys that we probably overlooked. He suggested good spots for photos and let us pick out a few too. It was awesome, and may have been worth it for just that experience :)

We went for 2 days + a Character breakfast and MHP a couple weeks ago. We loved the PP+, even though we didn't get as many pictures as others rave about and we didn't find that we got "extra time" with any photographer. But we had a blast running up to the photographers in Carsland and just posing for the camera. Some of those shots are my favorites of the entire trip! My kids also enjoyed knowing they would be getting copies of ride photos; something we never do.

So, although I was a bit disappointed that we didn't get the attention that some people rave about, we did get plenty of shots with our family all included so in the end it was worth it to me. Another bonus? Since we did character breakfast, we did leave with 2 prints so my youngest could take them to school and share immediately after the trip.
