Photopass Question

How much is just the Photopass CD regularly? I guess I just don't understand what I'm paying for? I think I would just need the CD and then order the prints myself through Shutterfly or something?

If you aren't going to get any ride photos or character meal photos, then it might not be worth it for you. Those are not included on a regular photopass and are very expensive to purchase separately.

Well I did find this guys' review helpful. disney tourist blog.com/photopass-plus-review - sorry I guess it won't let me post this URL. ????

I decided to go ahead and purchase it. I hope I get what I want, a CD with pictures. I hope I understand how to utilize getting the ride photos on there and we have enough photos taken to feel it's worth.

But isn't the preorder of the photopass plus the same price as a regular photopass CD - at least for Disneyland (I couldn't find a preorder for the regular CD at a lower price than $69.95 regular charge - I know that Disneyworld has preorders of both the regular photopass and photopass plus)? If so, by preordering the photopass plus, you can get any ride photos included - and you aren't spending any additional money.

I am a WDW veteran, but a DL newbie.

At WDW there are photopass photographers in and around the parks taking pictures, they give you a photopass card with a unique number on it. You can combine several of these cards on to 1 account. This is convenient if our group breaks up and does different things.

Will the DL photopass plus allow for the use of multiple cards for 1 account?

This is the case at DLR as well. There are photographers all around the parks, they can take your picture and even add characters into them. As of 2 years ago you could combine PPcards together (I doubt that has changed).

I don't know about combining PP+ cards. I was wondering this myself.

Do I have to buy 2 PP+ to use them for ride pictures? Or can I get multiple cards when I register?

Ah, ok. I thought there was a preorder of the regular CD at a lower price. But if not, then yes, you should just get the the preorder of the photopass plus since it is the same price.

I can not believe the price difference between WDW photo pass and DL. We are definitely going to get the photo pass + preorder. For you DL vets do you know if there are photo pass photographers with the character meets at the Halloween party? I want to be able to load it up with family pics as I'm always missing in most of the shots of our vacations as I'm always taking the pictures. Thanks for all your help.

That is the Disney World (FL) prepurchase offer. The Disneyland (CA) photopass is only $69.95 and it looks like it cannot be preordered (at least from what I have read). The photopass plus for Disneyland can be preordered for the same price as the regular Disneyland photopass sells for - so it looks like that is the best deal for Disneyland - even if you don't have any character meals and only do a couple of rides that have pictures.

You are right. The regular DLR PhotoCD by itself cannot be pre-ordered. These things can be pre-ordered.

DLR PP+ -- $69.95 instead of $99.95 in the parks
WDW PP+ -- $169.95 instead of $199.95
WDW PhotoCD by itself -- $119.95 instead of $169.95

As a WDW vet, the $69.95 DLR PP+ price is just a crazy deal, especially for us. We buy the PhotoCD each trip. We also have bought the dining photos before for $30.

Just want to make sure of something :

When you get the Photopass +, the code that you get for the Photo CD is the one that you can create online, adding all the enhancements you want (frame, autographs, etc.) right?

Also, I many days do you have to do that CD. I remember that in Disney World, the pictures expires 30 days after you first look at it on the Photopass website.

I didn't know that the Disneyland Photopass CD was that cheap compared to the one at Disney World. We were already planning to do it (as for all of our trips) but quite happy to see it's not that expensive!

The Photopass CD is regularly $69 (see the picture in a prior post). This is the price you pay at the park. There is no pre-order option for the photopass CD at DLR (only at WDW).

There are photo pass photographers at some, but not all, of the character meets at the Halloween Party. I remember one year (at DL), for the villains, there was a PP photographer for only 2 of the 3 villains (very strange!) But there was still a cast member available to take pictures for the 3rd villain.

You only get one + card. So, whoever's going on the rides should bring the + card with them. You can, apparently, combine the + card with various PP cards that you get free from the photographers (in case you separate from the person that has the + card).
