Photopass Price Increase

According to Disney's Photopass page on Facebook:

"News Update for our Facebook Fans: As of March 21st, 2012 the price of Disney’s PhotoCD will be $169.95. If you're planning to order a PhotoCD, take advantage of the current price and order yours before the 21st of this month."

Wow! At that price, I think I'd go without photopass from now on unless I was sharing the cost with someone. That's a pretty hefty price tag!

I think they will see a decrease in the number of people ordering it now. I really didn't think it was worth the original price or even the special price of 99.00 before as a promo, especially since they are willing to take a pic with your camera also. I wonder if they are going to stop doing that now, lol!

Wow!!! I wonder if they will still offer a pre-purchase deal? I really like the Photopass CD, but $100 or so is about my limit for it.

We loved Photopass when it first came out. We found photographers all over, in some unusual places.

During our last trip, the photographers were few and far between. We found them in the "common areas" like on Main St and with the characters. I had around 40 pictures from a week's visit last summer. Unless you're really into pictures with characters, photopass is so not worth it any more.

The preorder will go up in price by $30 on March 21. It is going from $99.95 to 129.95. If anyone plans a trip anytime in the future, I suggest ordering before the 21st as the preorder credit does not expire.

And for a 30 percent price increase (to the preorder price), will their horribly designed site work any better?
The only way I would even consider the new price is if I preorder and if all ride and dining photos were available and included in that price, like how Test Track is. And even then, I'm not sure.

I would be afraid to pre-order. Some trips I have gotten a ton of photos. One trip in January a few years ago was abnormally cold, and there was a very minimal amount of photographers out. If I had pre-ordered for that trip, I wouln't have gotten good value from it.
Last trip, I ordered just the custom calendar. I thought that was a good deal for the price, and good quality

Just in case you don't already know, you can get a 100% refund on your preorder as long as it is within 90 days of the preorder purchase. So if you don't like your photos or feel you didn't get enough to justify the cost, you can get your money back.

I like Photopass for the magic shots.

The new cost is out of control. I'm not sure if it's worth it anymore.
