I think Bumbershoot will agree - you don't need to worry about pre-ordering a CD for DLR. I am not even sure if you CAN pre-order the DLR PhotoPass CD. WDW is a different story, and the CD may be cheaper to pre-order in that case than to actually purchase it when you create your online account. In fact, if there is a way to pre-order the DLR PP CD, it may even be more expensive than it would be to just order it when you create your account. Once you have your card(s) and create your online account and edit your photos the way you want, the CD costs just under $60 plus shipping (which for me was $7) and tax, if any (I was not charged tax). So I paid $66.95 - total for my DLR CD. The pre-order price would likely be more expensive that than, if it is even possible!

It is a good value for $67 - I turned 58 photos into 112 photos just by editing and applying borders and effects. I could have done more, but got bored after a while!

Oh good! I am glad I helped someone in some small way! Oh and I should mention, too, that if you decide to buy more than one CD, the additional CDs costs $19.95 each after you purchase the first one for $59.95. But, of course, one CD can hold hundreds of photos, so many people only need one. If you do a PP share, that is a different story. I don't know why they didn't charge me tax - maybe it is because I am in California too? - but I wasn't complaining! $66.95 was enough, but a good deal nonetheless!!

When you sign up for your photo pass is it good only for that day or can you get your picture taken every time you go within a month?

Okay, it works like this. You are in DL or DCA. You spot the PhotoPass photographer. They take your picture and give you the card, which you then take to every other PP photographer you see throughout the parks and they scan all your photos onto that one card. Now, you CAN use more than one card and just put them both on the same account, but let's assume you are using just one for the moment. From the second that very first picture is taken on that first day, you have 30 days to create an online PhotoPass account.

So, yes, to answer your question, you can use that same card - or get a new one - every time you go to DLR within that first 30 days, take as many pictures as you want, and all the pictures you have taken during that period can go onto that one account, as long as it is created 30 days from when your first photo is taken. Then, once you create your online account and you load in all the card numbers, you can view, edit or enhance all the photos how you want them. Every time you edit one, you save it as a new picture, so all your original photos stay intact, as well as the enhanced ones. That is how I turned 58 original photos into over 100 - by editing and playing around with them. You then have an additional 30 days from when you create your online account to actually order the CD or buy whatever. If I am not mistaken, I THINK you can actually load more pictures on during that second 30-day period. I could be wrong about that part of it, but to me, it appeared that I could load more photos on in that second month to get them on the same CD before I bought it, but I didnt have any new ones to load, so I don't know for sure. So they are pretty lenient with the time frames.

I preordered my WDW CD before my trip in Sept. However, I will be asking for a refund of the $99.95 since I also went to DLR after our return. The CD will only cost $59.95 plus $7 shipping since my DLR PP cards were entered last. That's how the site determines what price to charge you.

Thank you so very much Sherry E. I fully understand now.

Great! You will find that a lot of the PhotoPass photographers are very into their job and they try to take the time and effort to make sure you get great photos. They will wait patiently for other people to take their pictures and move out of the way so they can devote time to you, and if someone else gets in the way before you are done, they will ask them to move! Some of them will make sure they get several pictures of you in different silly poses and they also really try to make sure you get the best shots. Others are not as concerned and they will just snap something quickly when you are not even looking at the camera and shoo you along (especially if there is a line forming to take photos)! We had both. We had the ones who were bound and determiend to wait until every single person moved out of the way so they could take time to frame several perfect pictures of us, and then we had the ones who snapped pictures when I had my head turned to the side and I wasn't looking at the camera just to to hurry us along! You will find a mix of both of those types of photographers! And some of the pictures do come out really great, and others....well, you kind of look at them and say to yourself, "I could have taken better pictures than that." And it is true. Some of the pictures are professional quality and others are very amateur!! Just make sure you have a LOT of them taken. We stopped every time we saw a photographer. It IS a great service to have if you forget your camera or don't have a reliable camera, or if you just want to make sure everyone in your group gets IN the pictures (because there is always someone left out when they snap pictures).

When you hand each PP photographer your card, sometimes they will take it and place it on top of a stack of cards before they are done taking your pictures. Keep an eagle eye on your card - maybe even mark it with a telltale identifying sign of some kind - so that they don't accidentally hand you an empty card or a card belonging to someone else in a hectic moment - which you won't find out until you view your photos! Put your initials on your card or something so that when they hand it back to you, you will know they gave you the right one!

That is so good to know!
