PHOTOPASS DELIVERY to UK.

The only question I still have in mind is what happens when you're staying more than 14 days and have the PP+ issued at the hotel ?

We can have it extended past the 14 days limit when we redeem our voucher at DTD (for example) but what will happen if you collect it a the resort ?
Will the PP+ card already be punched in with an expiration date matching the check out date, or will the PP+ be validated only for 14 days even if the stay is longer ?
And what about split stays over 14 days ?

those are issues that will need to be raised when one of us asks to link PP+ to MDE (which is basically what will happen)

on a side note, I am under the impression that we will soon be back to a 14 days limit. This comes from my last conversation with Disney IT about FP+ where I was told that even if the stay is longer than 14 days, FP+ will be limited to 14 days. It seems nothing in their system is allowing for more than 14 days, so I wonder about having the PP+ card linked to the system.

I don't know but I hope that is not the case. It is not only the UK guests who get packages of 21 days so I would hope that they accommodate this. They have made a work-around for the resort rapid fill mugs so let's hope they do the same for PP+ If not I may just buy the regular PP and then get the Attracction+ when there as an add on

Edit to add: Just thinking about it and there should be no difference if you collect the voucher at the resort or have it shipped across; you still have to take the voucher to exchange it for the card so it should (hopefully) work on the same principle

the problem is that there will probably no longer be a voucher for onsite guests.

The next move, once MyMagic+ is fully rolled out, will be to get rid of the PP+ card and have the PP+ account linked to your magic band

from what I get, the photographers might no longer need to scan your PP+ card, but only your MagicBand, as Photopass pictures will directly be linked to your MDE account.
Actually there is (currently) no longer any (but one) magic shot available in the parks, due to the photopass integration to MDE.

so you're no longer going to collect a voucher (maybe only the PP+ bonus CD) and your PP+ will be linked to your resort reservation.

Of course a CM could always press a few keys and extend the PP+, that would be even easier since it would all be computerized (but you know how good disney is with computers ... :rotfl: )
Still, my latest contact with IT was pretty clear about that. For FP+, 14 days is the limit. I just hope that they don't "enforce" the 14 days policy for PP+ for those like us who stay longer.

so far the answer is unknown.

I hear you

But my point is that the Disney system has to accommodate 21 day packages and to do this means over-riding the standard one, and a means to do so has been put in place to accommodate this. The US and UK systems don't communicate with each other automatically and are viewed, for all intended purposes, as separate. However they have had to provide for the different structures for 21 day packages and also the 14 day Canadian tickets and the like. This means that for anything tied to your reservation, such as RFID mugs, park tickets and PP+ there has to be an option in the system to allow this to be entered in.

I can see why IT was telling you what they are telling you because they deal with Disney packages, not Disney UK ones, where the maximum number of days on a ticket is 10 if guests buy MYW and they are valid for up to 14 days unless the no expiration option is purchased. Likewise, they have a cap on the maximum number of consecutive days you can book at a resort which is also 14. So 14 days is set as the max for anything booked via Disney US. The IT guys are based in the USA and work with this system and have little or no knowledge of our system.

The guy you spoke with may very well be right and I could be completely off with this. I'm just saying it wouldn't be the first time that a CM had given me wrong information through being unfamiliar with the international guests reservation system and package structures :goodvibes

Shipping costs are the same for Canada! Thank you for the tip about the resort delivery. One less peace of paper I need with me!

HI we did photpass plus on our October 2011 trip and we didn;t pay for the CD - so no postage - we just downloaded all the prints.

Will be interesting to find out if this has changed and postage has to be paid to the UK as we are planning a trip in Easter 2014 adn will definitely be using photopass plus.

It is still free to download once your home but you now have to pay the $15 shipping when ordering before your trip to take advantage of the $149 price instead if $199 when you arrive.
