Photopass CD & shipping to Canada?

I am wondering if anyone has ordered their Photopass CD after their vacation on line. Mostly I am worried about the dreaded possibility of outrageous brokerage fees & the big brown bully - UPS.
Is this a problem or can I safely wait until I am home to order the CD?

Thanks!

We ordered one in May following our trip and remember it took no time at all to arrive after we ordered it. The shipping was $5.49 to Canada and there were no additional customs fees.

Me too, no extra fees here!

We also had not problem, also there is a deal where if you order in advance the CD is only 99.95 instead of $124.95

I reserve a special kind of corporate hatred for UPS. I find their brokerage fees to be excessive and usurious. "Big Brown Bully" indeed.

I received my Photobook today... by UPS. The shipment was assessed a $29.99 brokerage fee. I still haven't received my photos (shipped separately... if there's another brokerage fee on that, I'll have a stroke).

I have sent an email to disneyphotopass_support@disneyworld.com to voice my displeasure. On the Photopass website, it clearly states the shipments will be by First Class Mail, and there is no mention of UPS anywhere. With the hatred I have for UPS, I'm prepared to file a small claims court case -- yes, for $30 -- if I have to take it to that extreme.

Subscribe to this thread for updates... I will take this one to the end of the earth if I have to.

Did I mention I hate UPS?

I ordered the cd on Sat and it was on my doorstep today.
No extra charges.

The photobook news is disturbing. I was debating on the photobook and/or DVD for this trip. I did a photobook through Blacks last time - maybe I will have to stick with that. Hmm....

If you have any updates on your case please post. I know how infuriating it can be but when I looked into it there was nothing that could be done. It amazes me what is "legal"

No updates at this point... it's been 48 hours since I sent my email, so if I don't hear from them by Monday evening I will follow up. I still haven't received my photos either, so needless to say I'm less than impressed with the Photopass service.

I'll be sure to let you know how it turns out.

We received our PhotoCd last week. Prepurchased it for the $99. Shipping was included in the price. I was quite proud of us. For our week long stay with just DH and I, we had 225+ pictures, with the borders etc over 1200. In total, we had 5 cds. Major Deal :D

Well, apparently somewhere hidden in the Help section of the website (it takes 4 clicks to find it!), it does say that Photobooks are shipped via UPS.

I am continuing to push for a) compensation in some form for the unexpected $30 brokerage fee and b) for future users, it is identified that UPS is the shipper for Photobooks. Nobody should be surprised by this unfortunate fact.

In the meantime: Be aware that your Photobook order will likely be shipped via UPS and budget for an additional $30 in brokerage fees, plus GST. My recommendation is to stay away from ordering that particular product. Had I known it was going to cost so much to ship it, I would have.
