Photopass CD price rise

Thats me just orderd the $99 pre trip photo CD doodah. Thanks so much for highlighting the price increase (or potential increae for the preorder).

I have a question regarding the "admin" of the photopass. Now that I have ordered the CD, do I literally just hijack any photographers I see and get them to take my picture? How do they know its to go on my CD? Or do I get a card or something to give them and they mark numbers etc?

Would I get this card before I leave or when I'm in the park?

I have read the pages about the photopass service but I'm a bit confuddeled with everything

Thanks

K

When in the parks you get your photos taken an the first photographer will give you a card with a barcode & ID number on it. Hand it over every time you have your photo taken and they will scan it.

Once you get home you add this ID to the account you set up to pre-order and all your photos will be there:thumbsup2

You can have more than one card - me & DH usually carry one each incase we split up.

Also top tip is to either take a photo of the card or make a note of the ID incase you lose the card then the photos will still be safe :thumbsup2

If you are staying at a Disney resort they sometimes give you a Photopass card in your arrival pack. If not you can get one from any of the photographers, after you have had your first pics taken they will scan a card and give you it, goto the next photographer and give them your card, they will then take your pics and scan again........

Write down or photograph the card number, if you lose the card you can still get your photos with the number. You can enter multiple cards when you get home so don't worry about losing them or leaving in your hotel room, just get more cards.

Ask if you don't understand anything.

I also just read on another site that the pre order price for the CD is going up to $129.95 which is quite an increase, so I've just gone ahead and pre ordered also. :goodvibes

Thank you Wayne for all the helpful info. Loved your photos, especially the one where Ariel was in hysterics!

Just a bump as the price increase is TOMORROW so day is the last chance at the old pricing :thumbsup2

Ordered one pre-order on my account and just done another one on DH's account so we have this year covered :thumbsup2

Think I maybe the odd one out as although I think it is a good idea we hardly saw any photographers at all last november:confused3 Epcot, did not see one apart from at the entrance by spaceship earth. Best place we saw them were hollywood studios although main street MK had some. I must be looking in the wrong places as I have seen so many of you with such great pictures and reviews. The book does look lovely though.

Thats what worries me abit too! still quite expensive even at the discounted rate - We're at Disney for 12 days , but obviously will only probably visit 5 days. I know on the website there is a map which shows where they all are - but don't really want to go hunting them down!:rotfl2:

Mmm... decisions...decisions

This had me a bit worried too! I've decided to risk it and pre-order one, now keeping my fingers crossed we can find photographers!

Its been a while since we have been but in the past we used every photographer on Main Street until we got to the castle, got a different "view" each photo.

Simba seems to have grown somewhat too, judging by Wayne's photos :rotfl2:

We get the bulk of our photos from Character meet & greets. Some of them are so good at get the candid shot they are priceless to us.

We only got 2 or 3 sets of the posed photos in February as DD didn't want to cooperate! However we had 150 photos in a week when I loaded the cards!

I really love doing the Photobook though now and we have started to get one every trip. the 20 pages is just right for the 'highlights' - impatiently waiting for it to arrive at the moment!

We found if you tell them you have pre paid they will take more.

Get into the habit of stopping when you see a photographer.

If you find one not busy they are usually willing to play around a bit more and do the special shots.

Don't be afraid of asking for special shots. Stitchkingdom.com has lots of examples.

If you get photos included in a character meal or buy them you can add them to your photopass card.

We just didn't see photopass at the waterparks in October.
