Are there currently photopass photographers at the Tinkerbell and princess locations? I didn't see them there when I went in February.
Bummer! I was hoping they would return.Nope, not as of last week. They took Photopass away from these spots to have more “roaming” photographers wandering the parks.
I’ve posted my annoyance about this several times here on the boards. I’ve emailed guest services twice. Do not like.
They have not had photographers recently; as mentioned, they generally took them out of indoor meet and greets to have more roaming the parks. You may get lucky, but I wouldn’t plan to have photographers.Just to clarify, they don't have photopass photographers at the Royal Hall for the princess meet and greets either?
They’re just more frequently outside - not so much “new” places as all the places at once. At DL, there’s usually one on Main Street outside the Cinema/Emporium area now, and then sometimes one further up Main Street in addition to the ones at the Partners statue and the Castle. At DCA the other day, I noted one at the fountain, one in front of the Animation building, one by the fake cloud backdrop, and then another one over by Guardians. In the past, probably only one or maybe two of them would have been out at a time.Has there been mention of where those photographers have been reassigned to? I'd like to see some examples of the new photo ops giving up character Photopass provides. Surely it has to be more than just the regular spots?
Honestly, it would be really interesting to see the reaction inside Royal Hall and Animation Academy to this news, especially if the wait as very long.
Well, that's a bummer! But, thanks for all the info! They have not had photographers recently; as mentioned, they generally took them out of indoor meet and greets to have more roaming the parks. You may get lucky, but I wouldn’t plan to have photographers.

Sounds ridiculous enough to be believable.I have heard rumors that the reason for the PP changes and for not putting more photographers out generally is to discourage guests from purchasing MP only for PP. This makes sense, even if this seems like a lame way to go about it. So it wouldn't surprise me if we see the PP benefit disappear from MP in the future -- but I hope that would mean the return of the PP photographers in the bargain.
If that's the case, just remove PP from MP.I have heard rumors that the reason for the PP changes and for not putting more photographers out generally is to discourage guests from purchasing MP only for PP. I wouldn't be shocked to see that happen once more people start buying it (you know, like when SWL opens). If that's the case, just remove PP from MP.
What’s weird is that CMs continue to tell people that MaxPass is FOR Photopass. I just heard this discussion at the info booth by the hub last week (and not for the first time), the CM there (who’s a plaid), telling a guest that the point of MaxPass is to get Photopass, and that being able to book FPs on your phone is just a “bonus.” Usually the info booth CMs are pretty well-informed.I have heard rumors that the reason for the PP changes and for not putting more photographers out generally is to discourage guests from purchasing MP only for PP. They also definitely are putting them where they’re more “visible” to guests since they’re all just standing around (yesterday a photographer was doing some fun pictures with a large group at the front of the Hollywood Studios sign, and people started lining up). I don’t doubt that they could separate out photo and FP benefits in the future, but I’m not sure that explains the lack of character Photopass photographers currently.
