I'm interested in getting the Photopass CD, but I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share their Photopass album (or if that's even possible) to see the type, amount and quality of the pics?

I don't think I can share mine, it's only on line for a certain amount of time. But I will say, the quality is great. When we go next month, I'll be bringing home another CD.

Mine's expired now too

The quality is great though - the amount depends entirely on how many pictures you want taken. Just hand your card over to the photographer and ask for a picture. The cd wasn't introduced until after we bought our pictures, I think we paid over $100 for about 12 7x5s... we had about 40 pictures taken altogether and had trouble picking the ones we wanted to buy as there were so many. I think the CD is a fantastic idea - much better value for money :)

Definitely get a CD! We didn't and like Rosiejo ended up ordering about $100 worth of pics anyway. In respones to your original questions, the CD will have all of your photopass pics on it (even the ones that didn't turn out so great) so the more pics you have taken the better deal you get with the CD. Once you have the CD you can print out the pics at home or at Target, CVS, etc. The only thing is that you can't get any of the cute enhancements on the photos you print from the CD. What is mean is that since this was our sons first trip on one of the photos we got Chip and Dale's signature and on another I think we got pluto's pawmark.

Also be sure to leave yourself plenty of time to "order" the CD. One of the reasons we didn't get it is that it takes about 5-10 mins to burn the CD and of course since it was our last stop before leaving we didn't have the time to wait since the line was pretty long anyways. We ended up ordering individual prints at home but you CANNOT order the CD once you leave WDW so if you want it - be sure to get it.

VERY good information to have. I thought you could order a CD after you left....that might have been a huge mistake since we're only planning on getting the CD....thanks so much.

Please also remember that when purchasing a CD, Disney is giving up the copyright for those pics. (This is why you can take them to CVS or WalMart for processing).

If you share pics on the web without having copyrighted them yourself, they are 'fair game'. Just a thought to keep in mind when posting.

As for me...my fun comes in taking the pics and reliving the memories. :thumbsup2

Please tell me if I understand this correctly. I don't pay for the photopass when it is given to me. I give the photopass to CM's who will take pictures. Then, I can either buy a CD for $100 when I leave WDW, or I can order photos and pay per photo when I get home.

Also, where do I get the photopass? If I get the CD, can I still order prints with the enancements if I want them? How readily available are the CM photographers?

Thanks.

Not trying to hi-jack, just a related question:
The CD itself still has all of your pics on it though, right? I know that the online photopass accout expires after 30 days but once you buy the CD, the pictures are on there forever for you to print out whenever you want to? I know you can't add the signatures and stuff...it's just the pics

 PhotoPass is great -- and if you're going to be there more than a few days, the CD is well worth the cost (you'll probably spend more on soda pop while you're there)-- it's about the best souvenir and memory aid you can get. You will get all the original photos that they think turned out okay (we had a photog try a night shot that didn't get included, am sure it was too dark and blurry). Most of them will be great shots, especially if you cooperate and ham it up!

The photogs will be in several key locations -- just look for people in costume with a large camera. You can get a new card (free) from any of them -- after you have a card, you just hand the card to them before you pose. Be sure to get it back! You can also combine cards, if you end up with more than one -- write down the numbers of them on something you will not lose -- then you can still get the CD and get to your site online if you lose a card.

They will take individual and group shots for you if you ask, or just pose that way, taking turns -- it's a treat for me to actually be in some of our photos now --since I've always been the family photographer.

If you do a pose with Simba (AK), Tinkerbell (MK) or Stitch (MGM) those photos will be on the CD (you can ask if/where they do that -- it usually involves holding your hands out) -- they're really cute.

The photogs will be in front of the parks with characters sometimes, at "vista" locations near the entrance -- and at character stops. They will not be with all the characters, even in the group character areas. They do not do ride photos, and the photos taken at the Water Parks and rides (i.e. Splash Mountain) are not included on the CD (at least so far, but the system keeps being improved).

They, or a CM will also take a photo with your camera (but their photo will probably be better).

The photos on the CD are high resolution so you can get nice enlargements, and/or do your own enhancements at home. Okay, here's the sneaky tip -- you can add the enhancements to your online photos and use print screen and cropping to get low-res versions of them that are okay for scrapbooking, etc. -- but, by all means, if you're there a few days or more, get a lot of PhotoPass pics taken and buy the CD.

Don't wait 'til the last minute to go get the CD; they are available now at each park -- even if you get a couple done after you get the CD -- that you'll only have online, you'll still be assured of having gotten the CD in time (the lines will be short to nonexistent in the afternoon).

And, no, I have no "interest" in pushing the PhotoPass system -- I just really love it a lot! If you are a photographer, and there's no line, it's fun to talk with the photogs, also -- sometimes I even take their picture! :yay:

I am really looking forward to using photopass during my honeymoon!! Do you know if they have any photographers take pictures during the fireworks?

I'm really looking forward to this also. During our last visit, I spent a lot of money buying the individual shots and then worrying that they would be ruined on the trip home.

my photos have expired on line already.. but we bought the cd.. we had over 309 pics that were all wonderful! Money well spent!!!!!!!!!!

I thought you could buy the CD after you got home also. Please let me know if you can't because that was what I was planning on doing. I would hate to wait and not be able to get it.

I have a question....I am not so computer literate when it comes to doing anything with my digital photos. I have done the photopass thing in the past and love it. However, I'm going in Oct, for a special birthday trip with my dd and her friend (and her mom). I think one of the new PhotoPass CDs with your photos on them as well as the 'pro' shots would be a terrific memento for each family. But, I'm hesitant to wait until I get home to do this. Is there someway I can take my memory card, and do the Photopass thing while I'm still in WDW? I use Kodak Easyshare program but have had no luck in being able to post them anywhere....just can't seem to get any photos from point A to point B, unless it is within the Koday system. :confused3

We absolutely LOVED Disney's photopass service. I wish we had known more about it prior to our trip... live and learn I guess! At least we know for next years trip. Anyway, we loved it and ended up ordering the Disney photo movie! It is wonderful... a great way to capture all of our memories of a magical week. It was a limited offer however. How it worked... we chose all of the pix we wanted in the movie, placed them in the Chapters we wanted to. You could have up to 7 chapters in the movie, the chapters being named for the various parks. The movie arrived about 2 weeks later, full of music and some surprises! It lasts about 28 minutes... we watch it probably once a week to relive the entire trip. If this offer is still up for grabs... use it! If not, you won't regret purchasing any of the pictures!

Yep, yours forever. It is well worth the money.

That's what I meant, not a regular photo CD...thanks. I'm just wondering how hard it's going to be for me to accomplish this at home with little computer knowledge. Or can I do it while still in WDW, like on our last day?

Is the Disney Photo Movie mentioned above different from the regular CD? How much is it?
