Were having an Epcot wedding with a brunch reception at Ariels b4 having a break for our dessert party. Can any past or future morning brides who had a break before their Dessert Party help us out with a few questions?

Has anyone had professional photography & videography at the DP?

Did you have to pay for their time for the whole day or just the hrs you used?

We plan to use Randy Chapman for the photos but are a bit undecided on the videographer. I looked at STV videos but the quality seemed a lil grainy. Is that just cos i was viewing from the net?

Also the other videographer was kyla from A Cut Above. If anyone has opinions on these to id love to hear :)

Happy planning

I am interested in this as well. We are having a dessert party the night before our wedding, but would love to have some professional photos taken there with the fireworks. I was also wondering how they would charge for something like this?

In regards to the videography, we have booked Kyla w/ A cut above productions, the samples I have seen of her work look amazing and I have only heard rave reviews about her, plus her prices are right!! Good Luck deciding and hopefully someone can spread some more light on the questions!!

Even though my vow renewal was laid out (time-wise) differently than your wedding, hopefully, it will shed a little light on how things might work. Of course, only your EM can tell you exactly what to expect in regards to your wedding so please verify things with him/her.

I held a Welcome Party on the night before my vow renewal. I was charged for two hours of a Disney photographer’s time (that is the minimum charge, I believe, and it was perfect for my event). This charge was placed on my Master Account.

The next day was my vow renewal. I had purchased both a Disney photography package (two photographers for eight hours each) and a Disney videography package (one videographer for six or seven hours -- I can't remember right now, yikes!). Both of those charges were also placed on my Master Account.

I ~believe~ if your events are all in the same day, you can break up a photography/videography package. Disney has a specific way of doing this so please discuss it with your Event Manager. (That option didn’t work for my situation, thus I had to pay separately for a photographer for my Welcome Party.)

Here are Disney’s photographs of my Welcome Party. It was held at the Grand Floridian Resort: click here. I had worked with that particular Disney photographer before (he had photographed my Summerhouse Dinner Party earlier in the year). I was pleased with how my photographs had turned out (not all of them are in my on-line album). In my experience, Disney's photographers have always done a beautiful job with my events (I was pleased with the photos from my "Haunted Mansion" Movie Set Dinner Event the prior year).

I should note that I chose not to have my Welcome Party videotaped since the venue was very intimate. I had held a party there earlier in the year so I knew that was the right choice for me to make. Other people might make a different choice, as it should be. ;)

I hope this helped.

I am having a brunch reception at Ariel's & initially decided no photo or video at the dessert party that evening. However after seeing the beautiful pics that other disney brides had I was sold. I hired Randy Chapman for Photography & Kyla - A Cut Above for Video and chose both of their "basic" packages. Randy is charging $250 additional for the Dessert Party & Kyla is charging $175 for the add on of the dessert party. I feel that it is well worth it as I would regret later not having those memories on film & DVD.

I think the grainyness is because of the low resolution on the net and possible resizing. Give Stan a call and he will send out a sample video on DVD.

___Good luck

Thank you everyone this is exactly the information i was looking for :goodvibes

Towerclub - you are right, the grainy appearance is due to the low res. Sean called Stv & asked them to send him a copy. I like the idea of the fairybook closing with neuschwanstein as Sean's family heritage is from germany. Im so lucky my darling fiancé is planning most of this with me, if not more!! otherwise i dread to think of all the phone calls ill be making from here in the UK :rotfl:

KT27 - Thanks for posting Kyla's costs we really like the look of kyla too. Her samples look gr8 & i especially like the pic of her sitting in a tree to video someones wedding :goodvibes . The only thing that is making me reconsider kyla is waiting 3 months for the video!!
Im really not one for having my photo taken & even joked with Sean if i could have 500 of randys pics with just him in it lol.

Janet2k - Thank you for reminding me about disney videography. Im such an airhead it never even occurred to me to have them, since i hear so little about dis brides using them.
Ur welcome Party & Vow Renewal were so amazing & unique, but having read some of ur previous posts i would have expected nothing less. You truly are an inspiration to us all!!

I am having Stan and Randy for my dessert party. We are a morning wedding and we do have a break b/t the times. I forgot what Randy was going to charge, but Stan charged a break fee and then a per hour charge for illuminations. I would check with them to get current pricing. I think you may come out less expensive using Randy and Stan they are great and have done it many times before.
