For all you escape brides...what did you do for photography since the package only covers 2 hours. Is that enough time? Does that cover when the bride and groom are getting ready...or just the ceremony and reception??

I havent booked yet, but it seems like a lot of brides have been using outside photography for their Escape. Where is your ceremony?

I used Misty Miotto for my escape wedding and I had her for 6 hours and it was the perfect amount of time. There is no way I could have gotten everything I wanted in 2 hours. I knew I would buy the rights to the picsif I went with Disney, so Misty ended up only being about 200$ more than what I would have paid for the CD and only 2 hours of Dis photogs. And since we used an outside photog Disney gave us a honeymoon shoot to replace their photog.

This was in December so I am not sure what rules changed since then.

Disney is no longer offering substitutions so if you dont use their photog, you get NOTHING> Booooo! I still think your better off with outside photography though.

I wish the Escape package was a little more flexible. We dont all need annual passes, and most of us dont like to pay for a photographer whose work we havent been able to see in advance. If I knew they would be good, id feel better about it, but theri reputation is pretty bad.

Yes. The only place outside photographers aren't allowed is inside the parks - not an issue for Escape weddings.

How much is it for additional hours of photography with DPS?

Additional hours of photography cost $175. For $155 you can get 40 prints instead of 20, and $305 will get you 60 prints.

Yes and maybe. Since (most) desert parties are in-park you must use Disney's photogs. If your ceremony is out of the parks you can hire an outside photographer (ie Randy, Misty, the Roots, etc.), however if your ceremony is in the parks you much use Disney's photography people.

As long as your ceremony and reception are outside of the parks, of course you can.

I'm like 95% sure Disney offers a dessert party photography option.

They do. It's $350 for 2 hours of photography, 30-50 photos, and 4x6-inch prints of every image.

Sorry - but thanks for the replies..... ummm can I use my escape photo package for the dessert party and not for the ceremony?? Then I would use and outside photographer for the ceremony?

Unfortunately, Disney does not let you swap the photography included in the package for any other kind of photography. Well, they had been letting you swap it for a honeymoon shoot in street clothes, but it has been reported here that even that is no longer an option.

I would book them ASAP. I booked Randy like 10 months in advance, as soon as we picked a date.
