Food Porn?

About time!

Mulled Cider I was driving Highway 35, Skyline Boulevard and stopped at Alice's Restaurant. They were serving Hot Apple Cider! Hope you can see the steam!

Holiday Baking, from Marceline Confectionary, Downtown Disney.

Favourite Candy - Starbursts. I chewed on these on the plane! Not quite this amount; but close enough.

Favourite Candy - Chocolate. These were from a chocolate shop in Santa Cruz.

I had trouble with this category. You would have thought that with all those restaurants I was eating at, one of them would have brought some out with the bill. Instead, I've had to resort to the festive Peppermint variety!

And with all the category stretching so far, the last thing we need is more stretching, right?

This one is from my garden.

Not Quite Winter. Anyone recognise the plant?

Would you believe it is called.....Snow in Summer?

Twigs, moving pictures. I'm hoping things are much improved there now?

Thanks Pea-n Me, things are normal for me ( and my boys are home from college, so I am very happy!) But there are still electric trucks all around, the broken pole in my picture is still like that, only rigged up so it isn't at an extreme angle. they are still waiting on poles to replace the damaged ones. And the people on the south shore are still in dire straits. The problem here now on Long Island is finding rental properties for all the people whose homes are not liveable. The roads to the south shore beaches are still closed, and washed out in many places. So recovery is going to take a long time. At least gas rationing has stopped, so that is normal again.

Princess in Oz - Love your pictures, I am always entertained by your posts!

Love those peppermint Ghirardelli's! :goodvibes I bought some for teachers yesterday! Also great job on the mulled cider - was wondering if anyone was going to get that!

Harvest - I bought my L.I. Cheese Pumpkins to make pies yesterday

I'm a little late joining in but here's what I have managed to get,

Candy Apple
2296.jpg

Colonial with a disclaimer. They were taken with one of my cameras by my daughter. I was in Disneyworld. And a little background on the pics. There is a bridge near where I live that was being dedicated as a national landmark. My parents were on the planning committee and my mom loves to get dressed up and drag my grandkids into things. The bridge was built in the late 1600's and is the oldest bridge in continuous use in the country. It was also along the route that General Rochambeau took from Lexington to Yorktown to defeat the British in the Revolutionary War.

continuing on

I tried to get gusty wind but I wasn't happy with the pictures. I did however go out the day after Sandy hit our area. We weren't affcted nearly as bad as other areas but I was still amazed at what I saw.

This was on a small street near where my parents live. The tree took down the wires too
093.jpg

This tree went down on a major roadway and closed the outer lanes
040.jpg

These branches all went down in my churches court yard. Amazingly the only damage was to a small portion of the gutters. The trees that were damaged missed the buildings and the church that was built in the early 1800's.

This was just one of several headstones that were knocked over

We were very lucky.

I don't know if I'll get anymore but this was fun once again.

tazdev, you did great!

Thank you I have had a lot of fun with the different hunts. This one was a bit of a challenge as I have been hobbled with a badly sprained ankle. I will say they have given me a reason to use the camera and look for new perspectives. I love seeing what everyone comes up with.

Sorry to read that you had a sprained ankle, Tazdev. Hope you feel better soon. :flower3:

Thanks Princess. It has been really slow healing but I'm taking it one day at a time and still taking pics so all is good.

Tazdev - Hope your ankle feels better! Loved seeing your pictures!
