Decorated Pumpkin, Spooky with a touch of a Grim Reaper, all in Fall Colours

Ha! Is this a cake?

The freakin turkeys are mocking me again! Yesterday I saw two big Toms right out in front of my house, a perfect shot. I ran to get my camera and tele, aimed, shot, and no click. Battery nearly dead. DH tosses me out another battery, I put it in and, despite turkeys being a bit farther away, I aim shoot and no click. Nearly dead battery the second time. (These batteries have been problematic but I'm really done with them now!) By the time I get the third battery the turkeys have disappeared, and despite combing the neighborhood, I couldn't find them again! Darn! I remember chasing down the babies last time (what were they called? Poults!) and they were elusive, too. Uggh.

Best part, my DD looks on her Instagram this morning and her 13 yr old completely-not-into-photography friend from the neighborhood posts a beautiful picture of the flock taken with her phone (with beautiful fall colors in the background!)! How embarrassing.

Dang batteries! And yes...Instagram has me seriously thinking about tossing in the dSLR for an iPhone 4S!
