what's up with photobucket? I type in their address and get redirected to ads for unrelated web hosting services...

And most of the picture in the contest thread are just a red x

Anybody else seeing this - or is it actually me that got pwned?

Me too I just got back from Disneyland and now I can upload my pictures onto the sight. And your not going crazy either it happend to me. Is there another website I can upload my pictures too?

free or a paid site..???

Zenfolio is a great site, you can save 5 dollars if you use this discount code

Looks like they got the issue resovled. Works for me now too. Have to wonder about their security though. Or whether a simple oversight led to a failure to renew their domain and they had to quickly buy it back. Either way, it doesn't inspire a lot of customer confidence.

I prefer Flickr - easy to upload (especially large batches) and organize and they also now have an edit feature in conjunction with Picnic that allows editing of photos online after they are uploaded - neat tool. $25 a year for unlimited space. Beats having them on my hard drive or digging around for old CDs to find one photo.

Thank you Golf4food I will look into it. They say photobucket is up and running but I still can't get to the website. Oh well Thanks again

Photobucket was hacked the other day. There's a thread somewhere else here about it. I still can't get to it either, but a lot of people can. :confused3: Hopefully, it will go back to normal soon because I had a whole lot of pictures there that I didn't have copied anywhere else. :(

Photobucket's inabilty to resize photos accurately is really a pain. I send half a dozen PM's a week to people reminding them of the 800x600 size limit. At least 75% of them come from Photobucket and the posters thought they'd resized them. Photobucket just doesn't do what it says it's going to do.

rant off.

zenfolio has the links as well which is really useful, you just hit the image thing here, insert the link and it's watermarked and good to go...think their cheapest is around $25 or so per yr...i used to use photobucket and still do occasionally for stuff i don't want to download to zen. ( i don't like having a lot of personal stuff where i have stuff for sale even though i can mark it private, it just looks a little less professional to me to have a bunch of off limit galleries) but it's a pain to have to watermark etc if it is something i want to watermark, same with flicker. to me i'd rather pay the yrly amount and be done with it.

I'm moving away from photobucket. I'm also moving away from flickr. After doing some research and reading reviews and opinions I'm going with smugmug. I've already put most of my Disney '07 trip photos there and keep a private gallery for DS t-ball team. I like the interaface and ease of use along with the privacy options.

I liked photobucket, but they've made some changes I'm not sold on (layouts) and they've had to many break downs for my taste.
