I took some pictures over the weekend at our cabin (finding some of the different settings in the new camera). When I have them downloaded, I will post them.

This was taken at Kennywood Park last summer:

Thanks Amy. The fountain was right in front of the pavilion. We were there in April.

Mike, I like the monkey! All of the times I've been to TSM, I've never really noticed all of the building decorations until this year.

You ever look at picture and wish you had taken it from a different angle or got more in the frame? This is one of those for me lol. Wish I would have gotten the whole barrel top in the frame, I was so focused on the big one in the front, didn't even pay attention to anything else lol. Oh well live and learn.

This one area of the park I havent put too much time in looking at every little detail, its usually a mad dash in the AM to TSM and then after the ride really not much time spent around that part. DHS is really turning into a half day park for us unfortunately

Mike, we're the same. Park opening run to TSM then a 1/2 day park. We're usually out by 2:00. This year was fun for me because I went back by myself from 11-1am for EMH. The park, from a photography standpoint, is sooo much different at night. Especially when empty.

Just a few taken with the NEX 5N on the 4th. We arrived late and I hadn't even been certain I would take pictures but found we had a flag pole in front of us so I thought I'd go ahead and take a few. It was pretty windy though so you see the motion. Next year I might have to go back there and play around with that view a bit more. This was the first time I had used a remote shutter release with the 5N so I was happy to learn that function worked! :goodvibes

Never thought of it until I saw your photos, Kathy (nice job BTW)...but if you get the chance to do it again, you should bring a good flash with you. During the exposure, fire off the flash at the flag - it should light it up beautifully against the fireworks!

Hey Justin, I have a question about the Nex exposure and playback. Saturday I noticed that all of my photos looked brighter than when reviewing on the Nex(LCD & EVF). I have my settings set to Live View settings ON with the histogram in the EVF and LCD. I usually shoot in AP or Manual and go by light meter reading and histogram. I noticed that lately the final shot in playback is about a stop brighter than what it shows in LV. The histogram in playback mode is about a stop brighter than it looks in LV but when I put it in Lightroom, the exposure looks correct. I don't know if I'm explaining this well, but have you ever noticed your final shots different than LV before the shot?

Nice job Kathy!

Thanks Harry and Justin!

Bringing the flash was what I had been thinking about. Maybe I'll just go back some evening and try it out before the next fireworks and see how it goes.
