Took these on a rare sunny January day on Webster Pond near Syracuse, NY. Used a D70 and 80-400mm VR lens @ 400mm focal length (600mm 35mm equivalent). Give this lens some light and it sings!

Experimenting with my new D5000, here is a picture of my mom's dog, Reggy. My dog doesn't know how to pose :) Critique is welcome!

Yesterday, some good friends who moved away over a year ago, came to visit. I took a lot of shots of their son. I think this is my favorite:

One of my cousin's gave birth last week and tomorrow I'm going to go visit her and the new baby. I told her I had a few idea's for some newborn shots.

One of my idea's is the black background with the mom wearing a black shirt and holding the baby. I've never done this before so I wanted to test it out. I bought a cheep black bed sheet at Target and to test out some settings I asked DD to be my model with one of her "babies" :)

She is so good. She almost never says no when I want to try out some photo stuff. I guess thats why I have more pictures of her than the boy's because they will say no more often.

Looking forward to trying out some shots with my cousin.

You are lucky to have such a willing model! I have to pay my boys $$$$ to help me practice.

Here is a shot similar to what you are thinking of doing....it's one of my favorites. Good luck and let us see the results, please!

Wow very nice Scott!! :thumbsup2

thanks everyone! :thumbsup2

I actually tossed the sushi after I was done taking pictures of it since it took me over an hour to get the image just right. I didn't need to chance a stomachache at work tomorrow from it. ;)
