nice pics, thanks for sharing, I'd share pics of the Pirates Ball I was at last Sunday, but this is a family oriented site...LOL

What a fun idea.
I went out with a bunch of coworkers last weekend. We call ourselves the pink ladies and one of the secretaries I work with made all these costumes, and we walked around Salem MA and collected donations for breast cancer research. This was the second year they did it, and my first. It was a great time. Salem is insane at halloween.

Those dresses are wonderful! What a great idea.

Haven't had much opportunity to photograph my kids in this year's costumes, but here are a couple from the not too distant past. ;)

...but it is never too early for me to start thinking about Holiday Cards. What are some favorite websites for creating yours? I am especially interested in cards with multiple pictures since it is so hard to get all of three of my girls to smile pretty at the same time :cutie: :cutie: :cutie: !!
Thanks!

Last year I photshoped together a picture of everyone and then had it put on a card at wally world

I have it on my external drive I'll try and get it uploaded to smugmug to share..

I usually do a Photo card at Shutterfly.com. Last years was a family pic at Disney and same with this year.

I've done the same thing the past two years but had Shutterfly print them. There are loads of electronic scrapbooking sites where you can download "papers" and embellishments. Beware, it's rather addictive. Here are a couple I've done. If you don't want to go to all that trouble, I know that Shutterfly and Kodakgallery both finally offer templates for more than one photo.

Have fun!

Last year, I had a good deal from www.vistaprint.com. so that's who I used. I created the page in photoshop elements and then uploaded it as one image (.jpg).

Our own little Tinker Bell! Poor dog, she was the victim of my daughter's boredom as she was cleaning out her closet and found an old costume of hers (had to photoshop the background, never trust a 16 yr old to clear the garbage out from behind a subject while photographing!).

These are sooo cute!! :) I love them!

How did you change the background for the Tinkerbell Dog? I just cannot master this. I have the Adobe Photoshop and I just cannot figure it out. I think I am listing it on Ebay. :confused3

Oh I am so excited you started this thread ... my fiance and I had so much fun this year!

We had a few studio pictures done at downtown disney. Luckily, we did because these are the only pictures of us where our costumes are not drenched from the rain.

Peter did not like the codfish too much. :)

About the photoshop question:

Photoshop can be quite intimidating, but if you have the time to sit and play with it you'll be able to do a lot of "basic" things like this. I have Photoshop 7, so it may be a bit different in other versions.

Changing the background took a few steps - this one was done quite quickly. First go to Window at the top and click on Tools (if it is not already checked) - this will open your tool bar. I used the magnetic lasso (tool bar) to cut the dog out (done very quickly - could have "cleaned" it up a bit). Then went to Select on the top and from that chose Inverse. That selected the background. Then went to Filter (also on top), to Blur, and chose Gaussian Blur. I left it on whatever settings that it was set on. Then changed the foreground color to orange (tool bar). Then chose the brush tool (tool bar) and set it on a splotchy brush (up at top) and splotched up the background.

I'm sure just reading this it doesn't sound simple, but it really is quite basic as far as photoshop is concerned. Try and sit with it a bit before definitely selling it - it can be frustrating, but also lots of fun.

Here are a few of my Pirate crew. :)
