If I do the digital only package will it include the images with all the special borders or just straight images

On my Alaska 2014 trip....
  • you get the pixie dust borders
  • I think the images were 2 megapixels. Don't remember exactly. I just remember it was nowhere near the camera's native size.

Just downloaded mine last night. Yes borders and they are each around 1 mb.

It says somewhere on their website that the boarders are mandatory. I agree, I would have preferred the option to remove them or to just not have any, but that isn't a choice. Sometimes the boarders cut off a head or an arm.

Time was that the printed photos had boarders and the digital ones were the raw (uncropped) photos (no borders). Once Shutters pretty much switched to the digital format, the borders were on all photos.

I've read that, if you can prove the border seriously blocks someone/something in the photo, they may reprint without a boarder, but just a print.

Another note, not all borders are true borders. Some are just the ship logo in the corner.

Many of them have the borders, and at this time, when you pick up your digital CD, the borders are placed on many of your photos. Some of them are small, like a ship logo, which is fine, but some can be large and obtrusive.

I was very unhappy with some of the borders from our last voyage. For example, the photo with Tiana had a GIANT cartoon image of the prince in the corner and the prince's face was literally larger than my daughter's (I'm using literally for real here - when I printed it up, I measured and the face of the price was bigger than my daughter's face). It was so distracting. The photo with Sully had some odd piece of Monster's Inc. equipment that was bisecting my daughter's legs in a really strange way and we had several photos that were really crooked within the borders and with the borders there was no way to straighten them out. So I emailed them and pointed to the specific issues. They were able to set up a link for me to download the problematic photos without borders, for which I was immensely grateful. So, lesson learned, if the borders are really bothersome for some reason, if you email and point logically and rationally to your issues, it seems you can get a small handful of photos without them if you have specific issues. They didn't send me ALL my photos without borders, just specific ones that I pointed out were a problem for me.

That said, it would be super duper nice if there were an option to have it how you want. I mean, they have digital kiosks there. I wouldn't mind spending 10 minutes in front of it selecting if I want borders or not before my photos are loaded onto the CD.
