This post is for anyone who might be misunderstanding this like I was.
Disney photographers will take your photos with characters (and probably many other photo spots) etc. They will hand you a card.
I had this service confused with the pay-$200 memory maker photo pkg.
Photo Pass is FREE. You can view the photos, add borders etc. and then purchase individual photos. The pictures are available online for about 30 days.
I literally tossed several photo cards thinking I wasn't paying $$$. Thankfully I kept two cards from our trip and have great pics of my DD with Peter Pan, Anna, & Elsa. She's 17 but STILL made me stand in line to meet characters!

Yep, PhotoPass is the photo-taking service and is totally free. You only have to pay if you want the pictures. You can either buy individual pictures, or you can pre-purchase the PhotoPass Archive Disc (or buy it after your trip for $50 more) which includes just the pictures from meet and greets and other places around the parks, or you can purchase Memory Maker, which is a digital only product and also includes ride and dining photos.
