We are leaving in 9 days (YEAH!) and I am going to pre-order the photopass for $99. I just got an email from DVC - the remindears they send you before the trip - and they have a special that if you purchase the photopass, you get a code to get a free photomug (dvc'rs only). Has anyone combined these or do you have to purchase the CD there at disney? I would love to get a mug, but would rather have the discounted PP CD

We pre purchased the photopass but did not do anything with it until we got back. We edited some of our 200+ photos then ordered the CD with the code from the pre purchase. It was very easy.

We did not have the mug offer at that time.

I think the mug thing is brand new. I will call DVC tomorrow and ask them - I guess hearing it from the source would be the best?

Hmmm, I got that email, but thought it was the Portrait thing that they do at SSR. Maybe I was wrong.

I'm looking for info on "the portrait thing they do at SSR." Can anyone direct me to this?

Thanks!

This is from the DVC member board:
Purchase a Disney's PhotoPass portrait package anytime through December 31, 2008, and receive a voucher for a free Disney's PhotoMug. Just redeem your voucher at DisneyPhotoPass.com to create your personalized PhotoMug. You can choose from over 15 designs and use the Disney's PhotoPass picture of your choice! To learn more, visit any Disney's PhotoPass location at the Walt Disney World® Resort. (Members must show their Club IDs at the portrait session to receive this offer.)

If you purchase the photopass CD in advance you can get the portrait package at some of the resorts for a discounted rate. Your personal photopass photog is with you for about an hour slot taking personal family photos all over the resort, but that time includes burning the disc and payment, etc. If you are a DVC member and show your card when you buy the portrait package you get the PhotoMug voucher. We did this last month and got about 60 pics in at about 6 different locations at the Beach Club.

Anyone looking to book, I found this site helpful for photopass

http://www.stitchkingdom.com/disneysphotopass/:

Disney Resorts Private Photo Shoot - You can arrange for private 30 minute photo sessions with a Disney's PhotoPass photographer at the Grand Floridian, Beach Club, Polynesian, Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom Lodge or Saratoga Springs Resort. The sessions includes around 40 photos (limited only by time) taken around the picturesque resorts and their beaches. Please note that as of September 1, 2008, Portrait sessions at the resorts are a separate entity from the Disney's PhotoPass system in the theme parks. While both Parks and Portraits use the same system for their photos, they are separate products. As such, the pricing structure has changed dramatically. There is no longer a discount specifically for guests who pre-order Disney's PhotoPass. Guests who pre-order the PhotoCD or purchase it within the theme parks can reserve a Portraits session for $74.95 with proof of purchase (either email or receipt). Guests wishing to purchase only the Portraits session on CD can do so for $149.95. Alternatively guests who purchase the Portraits session but then wish to combine photos from the Parks may do so by bringing their CD and PhotoPass cards to any resort location for a fee of $49.95 (bringing the total to roughly $200). Note that Disney's PhotoPass enhancements will not be available for Portrait session photos or any photos from the theme parks combined with it. Additionally, guests will no longer have the option of receiving their Portrait session photos on a Disney's PhotoPass card. Reports from guests who have participated in the photo sessions are overwhelmingly positive. Available times are seasonal, starting daily at 8 am until 7 pm or sunset, whichever comes first. Call 407-824-1700 to make reservations up to 30 days in advance or for additional information.

I guess I read it too fast - thanks for clearing it up.
