We got off the Fantasy two weeks ago and I'm kicking myself for not buying any pictures...I meant to do it the last night and we just got too busy packing/trying to squeeze in one last Aquaduck ride I never got to it. We had some great pictures and I'm so mad at myself for not buying them!:(

We cruise on the Magic next November and I want to be way more prepared for next time...is there a digital photo package available to buy? If so does anyone know how much it is and do I buy it ahead of time or once we're on the cruise? We're on a 5 night if that matters at all. Thanks for any advice!:)

Yes you can pre-purchase photo packages (digital). The link is on the DCL website. But here it is: https://www.mycruisephotos.com/DCL/...hy&utm_medium=Disney&utm_campaign=Photography

If you want to find it later yourself, hover over the "My Disney Cruise" tab on the right (on the DCL website) and click on "Photography Services" (near the bottom of the pull down menu).

The full digital package is discounted pre-cruise. And, depending on what cruise you're on, one of the larger photo packages may also be discounted.

Last September we sailed on the Fantasy and we bought the photo package before we boarded the ship. It was 250.00 This year its 295.00 but it is worth every penny. We got almost 100 pictures that they took. If you wait to buy it on board the cost is much higher and then each picture can cost you 20.95 each. Just 25 pictures would be over 500.00 SO pre-buying the portrait package is worth it.

Oh wow that's a big discount!! Was this for digital or printed? I definitely want the digital package...I wonder if it's the same price for shorter cruises as the longer ones on the Fantasy? We're going on a 5 night. Definitely not making the same mistake again and ordering the package ahead of time for this next cruise! I looked on My Cruise Photos.com and dont see our sail date...I'm assuming it will just be added closer to.

So how does the package work? If I buy a 10 photo package, do we take lots of pictures and then just select the ones we want?

Also, it says digital. Do I go home with a jump drive and I'm on my own to print them at home?

Thanks.

Yes, they'll take lots of pictures of you. Well, you'll have to hit the various photo locations. At the end of the cruise you'll receive a USB with all the photos on it, but your account will only allow you to unlock 10 (or 20, or whatever) photos once home to download/print.

You can print them yourself, or have it done at a printing place (like WalMart).

Wait, so even if I have 100 photos taken, I can only print out 10 or 20?? If you are buying the package to begin with shouldn't you have access to ALL of them?!
If you purchase the 10 (or 20) photo package, you can only download 10 (or 20) photos of all the photos taken. If you purchase the full digital package, you can download all the photos taken.

Interesting. So I still get to see the photos but only download the number I paid for?

This is a little off topic.... but can anyone who sailed the NYC Magic cruises last year that went to WDW and who bought the photo package confirm that the photo package extended to any pictures taken in the parks on the WDW day? TIA!

I don't know if it does, but check if you can buy the one day photopass package on the WDW app, if it's not included in your DCL package.

I don't think it does as they're run by different companies.
Unless the ship send photographers to the parks, which I doubt, and even then they wouldn't be like the park ones with the special effects and stuffs.

If they don't, then when you get your first photopass picture taken, get a paper card to add all your photos. Then, after, go into the WDW app (not on computer) and your account, go to photopass and add the number on the card to your account. You can then view a photo and it'll give you the option to buy all the one day photos, but I forget the price (well under $100). Then the photos will be bundled for download like all the other photopass photos.

They do not...2 totally separate things. No pictures taken in the park show up on the cruise package

We bought the 20-image digital package onboard (in recollection I probably should have paid $50 more and prepaid to get ALL the images, but then again with 2 little ones who never look in the same direction in the same photo, we really only had like 18 we wanted....).... the in,y thing I don't like about the package is that the Disney photo studio puts frames around each photo with cute characters and the name of the ship. When you try to develop them as anything other than 8x10 or 11x14, the frame looks really weird in the crop. So the 4X6 and 5x7 took some crop editing or have part of Mrs. Potts missing or a random Mickey hand in the bottom corner.

Do you happen to remember how much the 20 digital image package was?
