DW and I are taking our Nephew, Niece, and 10 year old grandNephew to WDW in December, for their first WDW trip.

To build anticipation (as if they needed any more) we started sending them scrapbook pages of photo tours around the four parks and the resorts every couple weeks. I thought I would share some of the pages with the scrapbook community and the photo community on DisBoards, and see if anyone else does something like this.

Oops, missed a bracket on the link to one of them.

:thumbsup2 Awesome!!! :thumbsup2

What a great idea and lucky nephew, niece and grand nephew!!

Very thoughtful and creative idea to help count down to their trip.

These are great Bob. Do you have pages for the other parks?

One year I took some of my work friends. I made a similar thing in Powerpoint to get them excited and give them an idea of what to expect. It was great fun and they loved it.

:thumbsup2 Way cool Bob! I love that idea!

But I have a question - do you have a day job? Where do you find the time to do all this stuff? I'd love to be able to play with my pictures like that, but between working (I only work 3 days a week) and running around with my kids and trying to keep the house semi-healthy (I gave up on "clean" a long time ago), I'm wiped out. :confused3

as usual, nice job bob...

do you ever print these out also or is it strictly on the computer? just wondered if you know how they turn out as hard copies

i know this program is less advanced than yours but photoshop ele. 5 has the ability to make a book with turning pages...these would be perfect for something like that.

Bob had a day job, he just doesn't do anything :) O wait I guess that is me too :rotfl:

Uh-oh, busted by Furgus (who works about 50' from me, and I use the term "work" loosely). ;)

Yep, I have a day job but we have no children and I don't watch much TV, so DW and I spend a lot of our free time playing with photography.

I printed these pages on Canon matte photo paper (to send to our Nephew & family), they look pretty good and we made copies to go in our scrapbook. Ilford's smooth pearl looks *really* good, almost like on the monitor, that's the paper we usually use for scrapbooks and framed prints.

"Clean the house"... hmm, forgot about that part... ;)

sorry should also have asked what kind of printer

I use a Canon i9900 printer, it will print up to 13" x 19" and does 12" x 12" scrapbook pages nicely.
The i9900 is intended to be replaced by Canon's Pro9000, which is taking an awfully long time to get to market.

There are reviews of the i9900 at Steves-Digicams and Luminous Landscape, it is probably still one of the best consumer photo printers available.

I try to keep the online jpgs to 100KB but at 8"x10"x300dpi the original files are 20-40MB! They look a lot better than the jpgs. ;)

I have more scrapbook pages for the four parks but currently am out of room on my ISP account. 10MB just doesn't go as far as it used to!

Definitely !! Those are wonderful -- thank you for sharing. I might have to swipe that idea.
