I was reading somewhere that it would be good idea to take Photo ID with you to the park. I was wondering if you just take a copy of your ID (driver license). (I would hate to lose my licence since we are flying.) I was thinking of making a copy and laminate it would they accept that.

Thanks!

I always have my license on hand but that's me. If you are afraid of losing it, why not just take a picture of it with your phone?

You'll need to show the ID when you check in and if you are purchasing alcohol (obviously depending on your age). Now that MB's & pins are used for room charging there is no signature to match on the back of the old KTTW cards so... :confused3

A photocopy of a driver's license isn't legally a valid proof of identity, so I wouldn't bet on it being accepted for most of the things ID could be checked for.

Not here, I carried only my magic band into the parks, no cash, no debit card, no DL. DW and I were never carded the entire time.

The one time DW took her wallet was to Down Town Disney and she lost it! She didnt discover she had lost it until several hours later. I was really worried about not having a drivers license for flying home. Thankfully someone turned it in with everything intact. After that neither of us brought anything into the parks except a water bottle and sunscreen.

Everything went to the magic band. I didn't find I overspent at all and it worked every time with our PIN.

I never travel anywhere, even in a parking lot, without my driver's license. Doesn't matter if I'm driving or not. Why? Coming home after settled my mother's estate, I was in an accident. I was in the car alone (my husband was back home waiting for me). I ended up with brain damage and a broken neck as the car rolled with me inside. When I woke up, my husband was there and I was fine within about five years.

The two things I will never travel without at any time are the driver's license and my health insurance card.

Your mileage (no pun intended) will vary.

A photocopy of a photo ID, laminated or not, will not be accepted as proof of age or identity.

At least for verifying age for purchase of alcohol, Florida law requires that the actual ID be presented.

It is a good idea to have a photo ID with you. You probably won't need it but

You may need it if:
You intend to purchase alcoholic beverages (even if you look older than 21 because a few CMs are overly cautious)
To present with your AP for parking (I had to do this. Some have said they did not. Some have even said that showing the magic band is enough, which makes no sense because having a magic band does not mean you have an AP)

You WILL need it if:
You have a problem with your park admission and need it reissued
You lock yourself out of your resort room
You wish to redeem discounts like AP or DVC

WOW thank God you are now ok and this is a perfect argument as to why we should always always carry our drivers license with us

People fall into the false feeling (esp on vacation) that nothing will happen and it can Don't complicate things by if something happens and you can't speak for yourself no one knows who the heck you are
