Phone Reservation headaches...kinda makes sense now

I've called the dining phone resv. line a few times and always felt rushed...or that they were just too quick to give up. The reason is, as I've recently found out, a lot of the dining agents work from home and they are now paid by the call instead of by the time they're on the phone.

I'm so glad I discovered how easy the online reserv. are...won't be calling anymore!

a lot of the dining agents work from home and they are now paid by the call instead of by the time they're on the phone.

1) The at-home folks have a guaranteed hourly rate of about $8.00.
. . . they will then earn a per-minute-talk-fee of 20¢.
. . . usually they can average about $10-$11/hr.
. . . they must commit to at least 15-hrs per week, with at least 5-hrs of those on Sat/Sun.
2) They are also graded on minutes-per-call.
3) If the call average-time is too long, they can be dropped from the program.
4) Also,
. . . they must sign up on a weekly basis for specific hours on specific days (7am-Midnight)
. . . if they have to go potty or something else, they might miss a call
. . . the call records as "not-answered" and goes to someone else
. . . if they miss even a few calls, they can be dropped (aka, fired)

Wow...this clears things up. I called Dining about a week before my 90+10 to ask lots of questions (many regarding new CP pkg) so I'd be prepared on reservation day. The woman on the phone knew less than I did and all but hung up on me at one point even though I had a few more questions to ask. I didn't think I had been on for too long, but maybe I had too much to say!
