What cel phone platform do you use? More to the point, which system do you PREFER? I have two phones - an iPhone for everyday use and a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 5G for work, operating on Android.

I prefer iPhones, I just find the interface to be superior, but there is something just soooooo cool about that flip Galaxy! I'm also curious about Ubuntu phones, because the interface is beautiful, but they cost a lot and power-wise, the phones were lacking.

Which do you prefer?

I don't understand iPhones and sometimes Apple products in general. In their quest for simplicity they actually make things needlessly complicated - like how they stuck with the one button for so long. Android always had the three - always had a "back" fucntion readily available, and still do though most are only screen based now. I also like having more control over what I can and can't do. There are more options, more styles, and more pricepoints - all in Android phones.

I got my first iPhone because it was the same one DS had, and he could teach me how to use it!

I'm comfortable with them now, and I really enjoy:
- the perks when texting other iPhones
- that it comes with FaceTime built in
- the automatic things it does with photos
- the ease of Siri

I used to be a Nokia fan, but I received an iPhone from a family member when they upgraded several years ago and have been an Apple fan ever since. I always preferred bar phones over flip phones, so the fact that Apple does not currently offer a flip or folding phone is not an issue for me. I have an old MacBook Pro that was a hand me down from the same relative, and I am on my third iPad and third iPhone. I have nothing against Android devices in particular but, for me, Apple is the right choice.

All my smartphones have been Android. My work phone was an iPhone. Never could figure it out. Kind of became moot because right before I retired 3 years ago we switched to a VoIP system that allowed us to text from our individual phone extensions so the iPhone was no longer needed.
But my main phone still is my landline.

My first cell was a Nokia 3310; loved that lil cutie and enjoyed telling AT&T salespeople they were wrong to blather on about the superiority of whatever they were hawking; I had a Sherman tank and knew it.

Dropped the phone in a file drawer and the battery died over the weekend. Took months before it was located and interim the man bought me an iPhone 4. Some of Apple’s products grew on me and having drunk the Koolaid, I’m still soldiering on sorta like Beta vs VHS.

I agree. Apple seems like they started out purposely trying to be 'different' to set themselves apart from their competition. I never saw their way of operating as better, but more like 'different just to be different'. Know some friends with Apple phones and that still seems to be the case in addition to their products always being way more expensive. My life has never revolved using my phone, I still mostly use it to make calls, send a few texts and perhaps look at email when not at home. I probably only use 10% of what is available and don't really care about all that other stuff. I know when we first got PC's at work, many had a terrible time moving back and forth between Apple & Microsoft products. Originally, some types of PC's were better at certain things, so we were using both.

Have always had an android based phone. Just got a new one a couple of weeks ago when my old one finally died and it seems like they all have their own quirks/features/buttons/symbols that apparently mean something to them but make NO sense to me and are never as intuitive as I think they should be. To move between the main screens there used to be TWO ways ..........tap or swipe..........now there is a 3rd method that seems to be some odd combination of both and brings you to other screens you can't otherwise view. I still don't find most of their symbols intuitive and seem way more complicated than necessary.

Touch the wrong button on a screen on your cell phone and it zips off to some other screen/area and then it takes maybe 30 minutes to figure out how to get back to where you previously were......annoying !!!

I'm a fairly recent convert to iPhone. I bought a used one, an 8. I find it much more intuitive than my old Android, and easier to use. The only thing about it that annoys me is that I'm having a problem with the virtual home button. I cannot get rid of it no matter what I try. I never had this problem with an Android phone.

I like my regular old home button, it's why I keep using an iPhone SE, plus they are the smaller size.
