Phone message from my MIL

We were cleaning out the phone messages, deleting old ones to prepare for the onlslaught of calls...

And we found buried among the 13 messages... a message from my MIL.. saying in her voice.. "Welcome back.. hope you had a WONDERFUL time.. I need to talk to you, call me back whenever..." That was on August 30.

Her voice sounded so clear, happy and excited that we were home from Disney World.

And today she passes on... I'm not sure what to do with that message. I didn't delete it right away, but told my DH... lets keep it for now...

What would you do

I would keep it I would do anything to hear my moms voice one more time she passed 7yrs ago and I went through a period that it would of made me cry really hard but I wish I had it now I probably would still sit and listen at times and cry but I would still love to have it. (if that makes any sense)

I'm not sure what I would do, but I imagine that in a fit of sadness, I would erase it....and then someday regret it deeply.

I would keep it. I had a voicemail from my very very dear friend whom we lost to cancer. We were changing voicemail systems, and our system admin told us everything was going to be lost. I explained to him, and he converted it to a .wav file for me. I have it burned onto a CD. I have not listened to it in about 2 years now, but just knowing I have it makes me feel so happy.

Keep it for now, you can always decide later to get rid of it, once it's gone, you can't get it back.

I would keep it. Perhaps you can do something with it like debster did. Then you would always have it.

The 10th anniversary of my mom's death is in a few months... my dad still has her voice on the v/m... none of us has had the heart to change it. It is a comfort sometimes to hear, I say keep it as long as you like. I am so sorry to hear about your MIL {{{hugs}}}
