So today is my phone interview. I initially applied for the College Program last year, didn't get past the Web Based Interview. So I went online last week to apply again for it, luckily this time I got through to the Phone Interview. So I scheduled the interview for 11:15 today.

So I get up early (stressing about it), started browsing online for tips and found DISBoards and looked at threads on here. So come 10:45 I start getting a little nervous, then 11:00 (getting real nervous), then comes 11:15 ... no call.
11:20, no call.
11:25, no call..
11:30, no call...

So I start freaking out (making sure my home phone was connected, check my cell). Then I go look at the dashboard ... apparently I scheduled for an 11:15 PM phone interview :surfweb:

So I've been waiting all day browsing DISBoards, thankfully it has relieved some of the stress reading other phone interview experiences.

So about me, I LOVE WDW, I'm 24 years old, I've been going since before I can remember, last year was my 7th time going and I love it more as an adult than I think I even did as a kid. My earliest memories are of Disney, I even have a scar on my forehead from when I was 4 years old thanks to the Orlando Airport escalator as we were on our way to WDW.

The roles I've been looking at are Lifeguard/Recreation (couple years of experience lifeguarding/running a pool), Attractions, and maybe Lodging/Food Beverage. I'm hoping to use the College Program to be able to do the Sciences Professional Internships with WDW.

I'll be sure to post later about how my interview went.

Phew ...

First she (Christine, who was really nice) confirmed all the information from the computer stuff and all the other basic questions they ask about that information.

She asked me a few questions regarding my work experience such as problems I've had to deal with and handling stressful situations. She focused on primarily the lifeguard role, since I have previous experience being a lifeguard and rated that the highest. Asked about how I would handle different roles, such as being a lifeguard, speaking on a microphone, working food/beverage, and operations/attractions.

I felt like I said "umm" a lot, which I would always scream at myself for when I did or I'd start saying some incoherent. Other than that I think it went well.

Now I just have to wait to see if I get it, she said I should hear around late October. How long did you have to wait before you heard whether you got the role or not?

Congrats on making it through the phone interview, and best of luck with the waiting period!

I'd love to know from any previous CP'ers how long the wait is between their stated mid-October timeframe and when they actually start letting people know.

Like is mid-october when MOST people should hear by? What's the earliest they start letting people know? I'm going to go insane checking my email about every 10 minutes until mid-october :rotfl2:

Oh, it's been awhile. I'm not sure how often I checked it. IIRC, you should have a good amount of time to accept the offer when it does come in though. So don't freak out if you if you miss a day.

At this point, you *should* start thinking about getting a work e-mail. I'm talking a professional e-mail account if you do not already have one. Something with your name in it, and a reputable e-mail site like gmail or icloud.com. Ex: John.Smith at icloud.com, Smith.John at gmail.com etc.

Then, you could set that e-mail to deliver to your phone and your phone set to alerts. That way you'll always be in the loop, and can check it quickly.
