I'm not looking at applying until February 2014, but for some reason - I'm REALLY nervous about the phone interview portion. Any pointers or tips? My top choices would be Attractions or Character Attendant.

Smile! You voice will sound more uplifting and positive, but it can also help your nerves. Also dont be too worried about being a little nervous, it will keep you on your toes :)

You can also look up some of the questions they ask specific to your role so you can have some idea of what to say, but keep in mind you have no idea what they will ask or IF they will ask. But alteast know why you want to work for disney and do the program.

Good Luck! :)

I agree with all of this. I know there's a thread on here (probably on page 2) with interview questions that people were asked. There's also countless blogs and youtube videos where people listed the questions they were asked. I did a lot of searching for questions, and when I found a list of questions, I'd come up with answers to all of the questions. Almost every single question I was asked during my interview I had already read online and had already come up with an answer to, which really helped! A couple of the questions I was asked were slightly different from what I had read on other people's lists, but they were similar enough that I was able to come up with a quick answer. I still have all of the blogs/lists I used bookmarked, so if you want them, just shoot me a PM!

One thing that really helped me was practicing the answers to questions by actually speaking out loud. It may feel silly talking to yourself, but it really helps. I found that I'd be able to answer a question in my head just fine, but when it came to verbalizing my answer, I'd get tongue tied. Fortunately, I practiced out loud enough that when it came time for my interview, I didn't get tongue tied at all :thumbsup2

They for sure will ask you why you want to do the program. So be ready for that. My answer to the question was super long, but my interviewer seemed to like it.

I was extremely nervous before my interview and while I was answering my first couple of questions, but my interviewer was super nice, which really helped me calm down!

It's already been said but SMILE!! It really shines through during the interview. Remember to use any past job/volunteer/life experience to help you answer questions! Some people say to dress up like you were going to an in person interview and others say to wear comfy clothes to help relax during the interview. Look around here for sample questions and practice them even if the question isn't for the role you want. It really helps! :)

It's been a LONG time since my CP interview, but I've had several interviews since then for internal transfers. If you have a story or something that relates to a question you were asked, use it. Disney is an entertainment company, and as a company, we love stories and story telling.

Echoing previous posters, rehearse, talk to a mirror, have your friends ask you the sample interview questions, etc. It can help to have a note card with bullet points for some of the highlights of your answers, but don't put your whole answer and then read it word for word.

What I did was look up sample questions, look over them bullet points of what I would say, or a story I'll tell. Then I emailed my sister all the questions telling her to call me and interview me. We did that pretty much every day until I sounded comfortable, friendly and professional.

Also if you are a person who fills in thinking time with "uhm" anything like that, now would be a good time to try to break that habit just so while in the interview those words won't slip out.

But really, just relax and smile! :thumbsup2
