Anybody want to suggest how many phone cards I should purchase and how many minutes on the cards? I read it was for tipping the CM's in the clubs. How many people actually need to be tipped with phone cards? I'll have two children in the clubs but I don't plan on having them there all the time HELP:confused3

Thanks

It's thoughtful of you to remember the CMs in the Club/Lab.

Some of them have cell phones so Wal-Mart gift cards are preferred over phone cards. And if you buy Wal-Mart gift cards, then you have the option of giving them out where appropriate or taking them home to use yourself.

Check out the discussion on this link. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=550328&highlight=+tips

I think you decide what you feel is appropriate for your family. The CMs in the Club/Lab don't expect a tip but DisBoarders are great about recognizing exceptional service wherever they find it.

First of all, no one "needs" to be tipped in the club/lab. There are about 12 counsellors in each place. I've usually handelled it by asking my child if she had a favorite counsellor or someone who made her time there really special. That usually resulted in a phone card or Wal-mart/Target card for one or two people.

The crew bus takes them to both Wal-mart and Target, so those are the best places for gift cards.

I never thought of Walmart cards. I bought AT&T phone cards for 120 minutes each. Got them in a pack at Sam's Club. We handed out 4 cards to counselors that my daughter said "helped" her. Even if they don't use them, they can always give them out themselves as gifts. You know, pay it forward, so to speak. It was the recognition that counted. We also included a phone card in the tip envelope for our server, assistant server and stateroom host. A little extra something for them and all their hard work.

I too passed out Sam's club atandt phone cards to lab staff whom my children felt connected to as well as in my tip envelopes. When I bought them, the were 2.9 cents per minute. A 120 minute card only cost me $3.50 ish so I gave each CM several cards

Thank you for all the replys. I thought I would have to buy 20 or so at $5.00 a pop. Add this to all the other tips and my head was spinning. I guess I'll get a few Walmart cards for the favorite counselors and stick it in a Thank You note too.

Again, thanks for your help!

I think a great activity for kids is to help them make Thank You cards before the cruise. They can color the "cards" (fold an 8 1/2x11 sheet lengthwise then crosswise) or put stickers on them or handprints or whatever. Gives them a way to participate in the planning and helps them to expect to have a great time. Then on the cruise, they can decide who gets their special cards.

My DD is a CM in the Club and she says it's the recognition more than a tip that really helps lift morale. Just an idea.

Have a wonderful cruise! U must be SO excited to see your DD too. Dont forget to say hi to our daughter in Palo! Perhaps they are pals?

Yes, phone cards are always a bonus for the CMs - and also Walmarts cards! Many CM have family across the other side of the world, and it is very expensive to call home!

Thanks to those of you who tip extra in this way! Nat:Pinkbounc
