Phone call from Delta today

Delta must like to make calls. When my son came in before Thanksgiving form Ireland, I got a call from Delta that went like this:
Hello, is the number for someone who had someone flying on a flight that originated in Ireland and went through JFK?

I said yes, as my stomach sunk..many things already racing through my mind..none good.

I have a message for you..would you be the correct person for me to give a message to, about the passengers that were on that flight.

uh, yes..is there a problem (I squasked out..)?

I'm sorry, yes there is (now, I'm about to get physically sick, and thinking so many bad thoughts, I can barely hear the guy. My breathing has all but stopped).

I'm afraid (breath Doris, I kept saying to myself, breath) the connecting flight out of NY has a bit of a delay. whew..oh my..is that all?? Who cares, as long as it hasn't crashed.

Apparently my son had to put down a person other than his phone number..and I didn't know it.

He ended up several hours late..no explanation, but we think the first two planes were empty and they didn't want to fly that way. Of course at 8:30 at night, I called again to see if he was in the air, and they said no, there was a problem backed up on the runway in NYC. Imagine my surprise when my son called at 8:45 wanting to know if anyone was picking him up at Albany airport..since their plane had taken off at 7..but who cared..they were safe.

Wow! What an idiot to call and phrase the questions like that!
We got an important call from Delta a few days ago regarding our flight this coming Saturday. Seems they needed to call us to tell us our flight time had been changed from 4:05 to 3:57 - Whew we would have missed the plane!
Anyone who cuts it that close deserves to miss their flight!
Now if we actually leave at either of those times, it will be a miracle!
