Phoenix~Tempe, Arizona

ASU alum here...Scottsdale has a bunch of great shopping if you're looking for that. The Scottsdale Mall is awesome. Mill Ave. in Tempe is pretty much the center of Tempe. There are a bunch of good restaurants on there (House of Tricks is really good). Contemporary Art Museum in Scottsdale, Phoenix Zoo, and the Botanical Gardens are all nice as well. Have a good trip!

My DD is at ASU, that is why I am going!!! :woohoo:  :yay:

Oh, that's awesome! Well, I'm sure you'll get a great tour of campus and everything! I'm not sure how long you'll be there, but if you have the chance for a day trip, Sedona is gorgous. There's some hikes, but even just driving around up there to see the red rocks is worth it. I think it was about an hour and a half? It wasn't as far as Flagstaff, for sure, although that's another cute city to check out!

You must visit the Herd Museum. Plan on spending as much time as you possibly can there, but at least four or more hours.

Sedona is fun. Sort of. The drive there from Phoenix is nice.

The Heard Museum is really fun. I don't know when you are coming but the Phoenix Zoo does Zoo lights every night after Thanksgiving through the first week of January. San Tan Village is great shopping- it's all outdoors, Tempe Marketplace has a lot of evening entertainment. The Big Bang is fun but full of college students- I would head there on a weekday. It's a dueling piano bar but lots of fun.

This is my last semester at ASU, it's changed so much in the last few years and will continue to change in the coming years. I think it's a really exciting time to be apart of the university.

The Taliesin West Tour is really interesting and worth the price. At least we thought so.;) Frank Lloyd Wright had a life story worth hearing about. Lots of great golf courses and wonderful restaurants, too. Love yummy food. :lovestruc
