Phineas & Ferb???

This is the one show of DS's (3)that I also really enjoy. I think it's creative and interesting and they do a really good job with the music. DS loves music and was singing Gitchi Gitchi Goo all the way home from WDW in January ;)

I am sure it's not everyone's cuppa however.

my dh won't let my 1 year old watch this show or spongebob - I myself don't care, but if he felt that strongly about it . . ..

Hello,

my DD (5) just started watching this show on the Disney channel...we suddenly lost all interest for Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Handy Manny for this weird-looking show. I have some issues with the language (words like "jerk" and incessant whining "mo-oooommm") and it just looks so different. :confused3

Any parents out there like this show? Dislike it? I am trying to decide if this stays on our allowed TV shows list. I have surfed around and some people are so into it...

TIA!

I'm with you. I really don't like it either, and I wish Disney wouldn't show it. It's not the worst thing in the world, but to me it's not very Disney. My DS (7) watches it too, and I do let him. I have a rule that after a certain hr. at our house there is no cartoon network allowed, because to me it's just not appropriate, but my little conniving;) son knows I love and somewhat live by Disney, so he's always quick to point out, but mom it's on Disney:laughing: I don't know, it's definetly not my first choice, and I really prefer when he watches playhouse disney with my DD (2) on Sat. mornings, but he's getting older and I talk to him about anything that not okay for him to say, and honestly I've never heard him say jerk ect. although I think some of his attitude may come from it:confused3

What about the song "squirrels in your pants"? :lmao: :rotfl:
I almost died laughing at that one!!

I totally agree. I couldn't stop laughing. I love it. I find most of the songs on P&F are pretty catchy and funny.
I wasn't sure on this show at first either my DS is 3 and he loves it. I didn't get it at first until I actually sat down and watched one. I think its neat how you always know the general storyline. Candace will never catch her brothers and Doofenshmirz(Sp??) will always lose to Perry.

I got my son a P&F shirt at the Disney store.:goodvibes

We have seen a preview for an upcoming episode called "Busted" where they get busted...

My family loves Phineas & Ferb.:lovestruc My DD(9) found it first, so I sat down to watch it just to see what it was all about, and I must say Disney has allowed me to breathe a sigh of relief.:thumbsup2
This is a great break from the SpongeBob that she had previously been addicted to, which I always hated anyway. I then urged my DD(7) and DS(2) to watch. Yes, I encouraged them. Phineas & Ferb has a great message. Kids can be smart, not just smart alecks, and it also shows that you can do anything if you set your mind to it.
I don't forsee my kids building a giant 3 story haunted house, or a rollercoaster in the back yard anytime soon, :rolleyes1 (wish they could), but it shows them to use thier imaginations and their brains.
I even sometimes indlulge in the guilty pleasure of watching it by myself :happytv: while DS is taking a nap, and DDs are in school.

For me, the pros outweigh the cons. It did take dh pointing out to me that the boys are actually never doing anything *bad* and are usually trying to do something nice for someone, even Candace - and then I realized he was right. Plus, it is utterly hilarious!

The main thing that bugs me is that the parents are so clueless - which is a popular trend in kids' shows after the pre-schooler shows.

They need some new episodes, however! My kids have moved on because they got tired of watching the same episodes...

Seriously?

I mean really?

This show is so funny...creative...fun for parents too.

Heck...I've considered changing my member name to Dr. Doofenshmirtz.

I will zap you all with my Watchphineusandferbinator...and everyone in the Tri-state area will fall madly in love with this show. :happytv:

My Dh and I and the kids (3 and 1) love Phineas and Ferb. Before we allow our kids to watch anything on tv we will watch it first. So when the first episode aired we tivoed it and we really didn't know how we felt about it but we have a rule that we give a show 2 tries. Well by the end of the second show we decided that it was alright for the kids to watch.

My one year old loves Perry.

Must say my girls 2 and 4 LOVE Phineas and Ferb. It took me a few episodes to get it but now I don't mind watching it with them. I got both of them that stuffed Perry for xmas from the disney store. My 2 year olds Perry is always in time out b/c I put it up to her ear and make it gnaw at her. LOL

In the mall up and down the escalators in the Mall

Whatcha doin?

Love it.

My family LOVES this show. It is so subtle and funny. Adults and kids can both enjoy it. The elements I love in this show are that P+F are good kids. The family unit is strong. The boys are always nice to candace and the parents are always nice to the kids (with the occational sarcastic comment). Candace even shows some affection to the boys. My ds3's new favorite song "Little brothers"

"Little brothers, because you're younger, we're related and your boys"

I am so glad to see there are other adults out there that enjoy this show as much as the kids. I was feeling a bit foolish for enjoying this show, and yes, even sitting down to watch it when the kids aren't with me. Glad to know I'm not alone. LOL!!!

LOVE this show I watch it all the time with my three kids. I always bug my kids by saying What...cha...doin?????

that is so funny!! i do the exact same thing!! i was thinking of designing an isabella tshirt with that phrase for myself for our upcoming trip (and if i do i'll post it here)

i, too, watch the show with the kids and like it! although candice tries to get the boys in trouble, they are all actually quite kind to each other in general...no real meaness, which i like. even doofenshmirtz isn't a "real" bad guy.

I love this show. I also DVR it and secretly watch it once in a while without the kids. :lmao:
