Have you checked airtran? I just checked for you with the dates we are going $79 one way..they are also offering a $25 off coupon. We actually booked ours as one way tickets and saved $50 a person. Check them out.

Here is the link to the voucher:

It is only 1 voucher per email address, but I just had a few people forward them to me.

Good Luck!

We just booked a September 9th flight one- way from PHL to MCO $70.60 per person.

Booked the flight on July 7th when they were running a 48 Hour Sale

No luggage fees on Southwest, 2 bags per person are FREE:thumbsup2

Flying home from Ft. Lauderdale on September 24th for $88.60 per person.

We still havent found any good deals yet leaving PHL to MCO on Nov 1st and returning either Nov 7th (evening) or Nov 8th morning. We got the $25 voucher for Airtran and would love to use it. I hope the prices come down, right now its outrageous

I really doubt the prices are going to come down on the 7th or the 8th. You are looking at the end of Jersey week on the 7th and the 8th. The NJEA teachers convention ends that weekend and the whole state of NJ wants to come home on those two days.

You may want to look at other options, like flying out of Baltimore !!

Good luck.

If you are willing to drive down to baltimore they have lower rates, I got 59 each way with Airtran for November 27th thru December 5th and used the $25 coupon for each ticket and the parking is less too :cool1:

Keep checking Southwest - the prices change almost daily. We're flying from PHL to MCO in late October. I've seen the prices range from $59 to $99 each way. It also helps if you sign up for their emails - you'll get notifications of their limited time offers. I subscribe to DING! and haven't seen anything there.

Good luck!

I booked 2 months ago and got $59 each way- 9/11 returning 9/19...The rates have only gone up from there. I would use the coupon and book as soon possible bc I doubt rates will be going down...

If you don't mind flying out of Atlantic City, Airtran has some cheap prices!!!
I just paid $30 one way incl. taxes!! Not kidding!!
They have a $25 coupon you can send for and if you search your flights thru www.kayak.com you don't pay any seat selection fees.

Sat & Sun have only 1 non stop flight but good flight times.
There are dates in Sept that are only $44 each way. Get some extra coupons for each passenger and book separate one ways and your total is only $30. Amazing. It was so cheap, dh and I will be going for a weekend in Sept w/o kids (early Sat to late Sun.) Sun return was a little higher, I think $50 after coupon.

Last Fri some of the dates jumped up to $80 something but still so so cheap after coupon.

hth!!

I agree. We've gone this week many times and will be cruising that week this year. You really have to book as soon as dates get released.

Airtran has some out of AC on those dates but the cheaper flights have connections and not great flight times but still better than driving or not going, right?

We booked a few months ago, when SW first opened flights for Sept, and we got $59 each way.

Thanks for all the responses and ideas!!!

I wouldnt mind AC at all - we have done that 1x before - do you pay for parking there now?

I haven't flown out of ACY since 1995. Usually SWA out of Philly offers great rates to MCO. I believe there is a charge these days but not as much as PHL.
I'd take BWI if I had to also. Whatever works!:goodvibes

Yep what ever works!!

We live just minutes south of the PHL airport - so that is always easiest for us as someone can drop us off and pick us up...but hey ya gotta do what ya gotta do, right??? lol:rotfl2:

yes, I'd do just about anything to avoid driving that far.
We flew SWA out of BWI to Buffalo/Niagara Falls just to not have to drive 9 hrs there. SW doesn't fly PHL-BUF.
95 is usually so crazy, I wish I could fly to get to PHL.

I was just told the same thing from an Air Tran rep that is from Philly. She says their flights from Halloween weekend and the weekend after are pretty full because of Jersey week. We go this time every year because it is our son's birthday and it has gotten increasingly crowded over the last 20 years. But I have not seen the flights so full at this time. Is there something else going on that you know about?

Don't forget to check fares out of Allentown - we flew direct on Airtran on the new service in late June, for $79.

Good for you! You will love flying out of BWI; I live in DE. I find BWI much more managable and the parking seems a bit easier.

I got my flight in December for $59.00.
