That's it, I'm going to sue. They cannot make a movie about me without my permission! :headache:

Seriously, if you haven't seen a preview of Run Fatboy Run, it looks hilarious. :rotfl:

Dave - Good job on the bike today. I agree with Cindy...I couldn't sit on a bike for 40 min.

Sara - I know the feeling. I was home with my DD last week for the same reason. Probably a good idea to ease up on the running until you know what's wrong. Nerves don't sound like something to mess around with. I hope you feel better soon.

Cindy - You're right about the podcasts. I've listened to them before when i ran and they don't make me run like the music does. Sounds like you have plenty of Disney races booked for 2008. Very nice!

Colleen - Good too see you are getting out of the funk. It's tough to get motivated this time of year. WTG!

Steve - I gotta check that movie out. Looks funny.

Not much to report the last 2 days. Took Super Bowl Sunday off to rest after 12 miles. I took today off because I was having "weird" chest pains all last night and into this morning. They went away but they were kind of freaky. DW thinks it was stress related because I was working all weekend. I had a few deadlines to meet this week that had me jammed up. I'll get back outside tomorrow assuming no weird pains.

Best line I heard all day about the Super Bowl on Philly sports talk radio..."the Giants QB grew up during the Super Bowl and our QB threw up during the Super Bowl." A day after the game we realized that we will probably never win a Super Bowl in Philly.

I'm in for the Shamrock next year:thumbsup2 . I'll probably give that one a go even without you (but I wouldn't enjoy it as much). Gotta love a race sponsored by a beer company.

Sorry to crash y'all's thread (can you have a word with two apostrophe's?) but this one's on my list. If you get a group together for '09, I might be interested!

lou...chest pain buys you an immediate do not pass Go trip to someone who knows how to work an EKG machine. Go get it checked out just to be safe and when they tell you it's just heartburn (like they told me a few years ago) you can come back and tell me I was a dork and you're just fine!

Just wanted to let you guys know I called the Embassy Suites again today and got the same story as Colleen - no contract signed so no rates loaded into system.

I will call again on Fridaypopcorn::

Hello all...

Quick post. I got in 5 "easy" miles on the TM yesterday. I ran a 10:00 pace, instead of the 10:39 that Runners World said because I wanted to get off the thing as fast as possible.

The weather is great here (65 degrees, cloudy, but windy) so I ran outside this morning. I did a speed workout today. Can one of you running veterans explain what the instructions below mean? I jogged the first mile then ran one mile at 8:33 then jogged a 1/2 mile. Then I ran another mile at 8:33 and jogged the last 1.5 miles. Did I do that right?

Speedwork
Dist: 5mi, inc
Warm; 2x1600@8:33
w/800 jogs; Cool

Good Morning all!

I can't believe its 65 degrees here and I'm not going to run today. But it was an optional day, which, as I mentiond before, I have decided to skip becasue I am afraid of adding too many miles too fast. Also, I think I really needed the extra sleep so it was the right choice, its just hard knowing I am missing running in this weather and that when I do my 12 miles on Sunday, the projected high is 31 with strong winds and snow showers:headache:

Colleen - I hope your excitement has continued. I'm happy for you that you are excited about exercise again. I honestly feel like I'm mentally just starting to get into running again for the first time since MCM. I'm really looking forward to trying to get a huge PR on the half in March.

Lou - I assume what you posted for your workout comes from the Runners World Smart Coach? I'm no veteran, but having used Smart Coach before, yes, I that is how I read it and you did it right.

Sara - Thanks for following up on the hotel.

Steve - Thanks for the laugh!

Jodi - I started reading ChiRunning on the metro on the way to and from work. I'm finding it really interesting. I haven't gotten to any of the actual running advice yet, but I do plan on focusing on my breathing when I run tomorrow.

Good afternoon all:

Not much going on here; I haven't run since my race Sunday, but I think I'll do a few miles on the TM tonight (pouring rain today). The forecast calls for the rain to turn into 8-10 inches of snow by morning (ho, hum).

Colleen: Congratulations on rediscovering the mojo and hitting the roads again.

Cindy: Sounds as if your training is going well. Four WDW visits and 4 WDW races in one year! (I am jealous.)

Mike: Racking up the miles there! I had to laugh when you said you are learning to run slowly; funny, it seems to come naturally to me. :scratchin

Dave: I hope the hip is cooperating. Did I type "Dave"? I meant "Lance Armstrong", Mr. Exercise Bike.

Lou: Man, you are motivated; nice job on the workouts. I think you are right on with the translation of your workout session abbreviations.

Sara: I'm sending you positive thoughts in hopes that the leg issues are heading towards a diagnosis, and then a resolution. I understand how frustrating it must be. Good luck with the EMG testing.

Jodi: Thank you for the invitation to the Ultra, but, ummm, I don't think I could run that many miles without Disney character photo-ops. By the way, I still need to blow the dust off my copy of Chi Running and begin reading already.

Chester: Hope all is well. Beautiful shot of the shirt comparison on the other thread; I believe you have a future in still-life photography. ;)

Hello to anyone I may have missed. :wave2: Take care.

SilverSteve, 10 inches of snow, yikes!:scared1:

Cindy, all of those Disney races, :cool1: I always said, I was finished with Disney, but I just don't know anymore.

Sara, hope you are starting to get out of the funk too and that the self-imposed stresses are lessening.

Mikey, you are already looking into the Shamrock thingie hotels, isn't that for 2009?

Lou, be careful with those chest pains. Get it looked into if they rear their ugly head again.

Dave, I am glad you are rehabbing that hip. Please take it easy. My problems came when I pushed my pace and started running 9 minute miles over 10 miles instead of my usual 9:50-10:10's.

SteveOH, how was your reverse taper? Mine was non-existant.:sad2:

Jodee, Jodee, what's shaking? Any decision on Minnie yet? Are you really heading down for EE?

OK, my AP's expire on August 2nd, I want to get one more trip in before they expire, but just can't decide when to go. I was always thinking we would go for Star Wars Weekend, but DH's June weekends are quickly filling up. I may have to single parent the kids and take a quick trip in June or July. Is anyone interested in going around this time?

We will be at WDW 6/28-7/6. DS17 graduates from high school that weekend so we're having a 1 down, 2 to go celebratory trip:banana: .

I know a few runners from my running club will be running the Shamrock this year so I will ask for the particulars once they return.

SilverSteve - Knee deep in the snow with you my friend:hug: . I hope you can make the best of it and the TM isn't too brutal.

Cindy - I love that you and DH ran together and finalized WDW plans for the next 12 months:woohoo: . Definitely good motivation to put in the miles:thumbsup2

Lou - I am glad you think the chest pains were only stress related and that they seem to have left as fast as they came. Nice job on the speedwork:cool1:

Mike - Have you been using the iPod? I can PM some song suggestions to make the miles fly by if you'd like:rolleyes1 .

Jodi - Hellooooooooooooooooooooo! Where you at girlfriendpopcorn:: ?! Busy Ultra training? How exactly did Bruce "throw down the gauntlet?"

Thanks for all of the :wizard: for the leg. I will admit to running a few miles this morning since I have a running addiction that I can only fight for so long:rolleyes1 . I figure admitting I have a problem is the first step so I am committed to treating this injury in order to resolve it ASAP. My EMG is Monday so we'll seepopcorn:: . I will try not to run until then but it's a 50/50 chance at this point:confused3 . Yoga and Pilates only do so much for me:laughing: .

Happy training to all this week although the double digit LR reports are killing me and I'm insanely jealous:cheer2: I don't do the sidelines well:rotfl:

Hey Everyone!Sorry I've been absent as of late, but I think I'm going through a mid-life crisis or something...:rotfl2: .* Ok, I've just been lazy!:surfweb: but of course, reading you guys daily.

Colleen - Still on the fence for Minnie, trying to save pennies for that cruise in Feb.* Now if a ding fare popped up that'd be something totally different!* I think I'm really going to try & go the Yetti thing (whole family'll prolly go) & hope that they'll offer free dining or something.

Sara - Stay off that leg!!! WTH??* We need you in Philly...who else will glare at me from across the pack?** Sorry about the snow stuff, nothing down here but rain/clouds/ & really warm weather?* Story goes that Bruce said he didn't think that doing an ultra was a "good" idea and that I need to be careful b/c, in so many words, I'm not getting any younger...Uh, nothing like PUSHING me into signing up!!:rotfl2:

Lou - Err on the side of caution w/ that chest pain stuff!* Any sign of that again & get it checked out ASAP & that's an order!

Cindy - In light of all the visits to Disney you have planned in the next 12 months I'm not sure I can talk to you anymore:snooty: .* Give me a little time with my envy & I'll come around:mad: .

Mikey - So you have a week off & nada posts on the thread...what's up with that??* Don't listen to Sara's songs for the iPod or you'll get really angry & stuff.

HummuSteve - I'll have my husband dress up as Goofy & take his picture w/ you so you can run the ultra!

Dave - How's the hip Mr. Man? How's the photo contest going?

SteveOh - Where are you guys?

Chester - Um...the missing link is now, truly missing...????

Not sure when I posted last. Sat 10, Sun. 6, Nada Mon. Tues. 4 Weds. 5 not sure how far today or about the weekend. The last 2 runs of been very rough for some reason? Oh well, I'd better not read into it too much & psych myself out. I've been craving sweets & alcohol for a few days now, too? This ever happen to anyone else?

Steve
All is well, I'm just taking training a little easy right now.

After I took a second look at the shirt comparison picture, it looks like all the clay from last year's Muddy Buddy didn't wash out.

Jodi
Not truly missing, just mostly missing. My last couple of runs have been a little rough too. My heart rate is running a little higher than typical for similar runs pre WDW. I've got 4 tonight, 7 Saturday and 14 Sunday.... If I feel like it.

Happy and healthy training to all,

Chester

Hey McPhillies,

Sorry for the lack of contact. No work, no sneaking a peak at the boards all night long.

I can't remember at the witty chit chat without looking back and am too lazy to do that right now.

Let's see, Colleen decided that sharing a room with some random person in Philly wasn't enough so is now inviting the world to go to WDW with her this summer. Sorry, we're probably shooting for later in August.

What else; Jodi wants to know if anyone is craving sweets and alcohol. Cindy? Cindy?

Chester is moonlighting as a still-life photographer but is lacking in laundering skill.

Lou is having chest pains but "It's only stress". WTH!!! GO SCHEDULE A STRESS TEST. I had one about a year ago and found out I had high blood pressure when I exercised!?! Now I take blood pressure medication so I can run. :confused3

Dave is training for the Tour de France. Using the cream or the clear?

Sara is ignoring medical advice due to her addiction.

Cindy is skipping the high 60's so she can run in 30 degree slop.

Steve is still looking for the sniper that got his knee and waiting for new episodes of Monk so he can ride the TM.

PatsyBill is taking the home study program of How to Win Friends and Influence People.

Anything else? I'm sure I missed something or someone. Sorry.

Gotta go. Watch day at dance today. Yippee!

SteveOh - Where are you guys?

I'm here! Honestly, this is the first time I've been able to check in with the team in about 3 or 4 days. It's been a crazy week. And then I wasn't even going to post because I haven't had a chance to read and catch up with everyone and I always feel like a schmuck when I have to get on here and say, "Hi guys! Look at me! Look at me! I don't care about anyone else, but I just come on to post about myself!"

Ok, now that that's out of my system :) , how are you guys doing? I really wasn't lying about not being able to catch up on the thread. I haven't. So I hope everyone is doing well. Thanks to you guys for the PMs a few days ago. You always give me a good laugh! ;) So how many people are on the Miles/Hours challenge and plan to lie big time about their mileage this week to boost their team's numbers? No one? Just me? Oops, I mean...I would never do that.

I reallly will try to catch up with you guys, but honestly it won't be till tomorrow. So HI to all the cool kids and hope you're all having a good week. Talk to you all soon!

Steve

PS--Krista said to tell everyone hi!

Let's see, Colleen decided that sharing a room with some random person in Philly wasn't enough so is now inviting the world to go to WDW with her this summer!

What can I say, I am a friendly kind of girl!;)

Either that or I am cheap and have no friends IRL.:thumbsup2

:thumbsup2

Hey, if I can't count my work hours towards the Challenge Game, I figured I'd have to just post objections like I have to do as part of my work.

OK, slinking off back to work now and back to lurking on this thread seeing how I made my monthly Philly/MCM dis as part of my protest to Challenge Game calculations on the DDD thread. I hope you all know that I only do it because I have distance and event envy.

Steve - Sounds like your having great running weather in Maine.

Colleen - No WDW trips for me this summer. Disney will get my $$$$ in August when I head out to DL. Star Wars weekend would be my pick.

Sara - Good luck with the EMG on Monday. I'd rest up until then if I were you. There's plenty of time to run once you know you're in the clear with respect to the leg.

Jodi - I guess I am not the only one craving alcohol and sweets. I tried giving up beer for Lent. I made it until 7PM last night at the Flyers game. DW "peer pressured" me into a few Black & Tans. Oh well.

Pats Bill - Ouch, it has to be a rough week for you. Even I started to feel bad for the Pats fans watching Michael Strahan stomping around on stage during that parade.

Chester, Mike, Steve, Krista, Cindy and everyone I missed - HI!

Bad news and good news for me. Bad news is I have to get up at 4AM tomorrow to get ready for an 8AM presentation I have to give at a conference for land surveyors (pretty exciting). The good news is the conference is in Atlantic City and I am blowing off work when I am finished around noon. I plan to hang out around A.C. and just soak in the boardwalk, shops, and outlets (maybe a blackjack table). However, I'm bringing the running gear because I may just get in a run along the boardwalk/beach if the weather is decent.

HeyDisBotMcPhillyPeeps!

Hi everyone. I'm an angry overthehill woman today...but I have been all week.:scared1: Could I be training too hard? I'm just soooo short tempered (pls. spare me the PMS chatter:laughing:, I don't do the PMS thing). I find myself yelling @ inanimate objects latey, including cracks in the pavement:mad: . Yesterday I went to the gym & got on the dreaded dreadmill which I said I'd never do again, & ran 30, very slow mins. @ incline 3 as a "rest" state & mixed in 15 mins. worth of incline 10. I, too, had a little chest pain lurking! NICE:yay: . I have a hx of palpitations w/ pulselessness :cool1: & have had everything done BUT a stress test. My DR first thought it was cause of my thyroid med:laughing: , but alas she knows nothing b/c that's been adjusted & I still have issues. My new DR says perhaps I have runs of...wait for it V-TACH (real rapid HR). I've told her when I cough it usually "restarts" the rhythm back to normal, which, in her infinite wisdom said was "a good thing", but if that shouldn't work one day & should dunk my head in real cold water & that should clear things up ok:confused3 (hope I have a cold bucket of water around if this should occur). Otherwise call an ambulance.

But I digress, I'm just so foul for reasons unknown:confused3 . I think I may be suffering from delayed-post-marathon blues...

oooh, this is one ugly post. sorry Oh, & yes Cindy, you'll forever be know as the thread drunk:lmao: , unless of course, I spiral into an intoxicated state of being over the next few weeks.:dance3:

Jodi - OMG, you had me :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: at work!! It very well may be overtraining but post-marathon blues would be appropriate also. Sometimes the continued mental stress of training gets to you:hug: . Just be kind to yourself and let the Chi flow freely:hippie: . Back off the miles some and drink up:thumbsup2 . I am kind of frightened about the chest pains and the things your doc is spewing:eek: !! Bucket of cold water:confused:

Cindy - You are officially the thread drunk for the time being:rolleyes1 .

SteveOH - Glad to see you haven't abandoned us:grouphug: .

Chester - Thanks for checking in:thumbsup2 .

Lou - I hope your presentation went well and that you get some miles in on the Boardwalk in AC today:cheer2: .

Lots of yoga and Pilates - that's all I'm gonna say about it:headache:

Happy training to all this weekend:cheer2:

Jodi - OMG, you had me :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: at work!!

Sara, I am SHOCKED, shocked I say, laughing at the poor girl!

She has some serious **** going on! Grave complications! Issues that need to be addressed@!!@! Problems to be resolved!!@!@! Now that I have diagnosed the problem, Mike, where are you? Take over from here.:rolleyes1
