Here's a Florida weather question for everyone. Here in VA, if they say there is a 70% chance of rain, they mean pretty much a rainy day. In FL, do they mean there's a 70% chance of getting one of those afternoon storms that happen every day or an all day sort of rain? I can never figure this out.

Mike - When I see 40% chance of "showers" I assume that means there is a 40% chance you'll get one of those quick Florida rain showers. "Rain", however, usually means it's going to rain for most of the day.

I spoke with someone last night who was at Disney in October and she said it "rained" almost the entire week they were there. She also said the forecast before she left called for "rain".

Like I said before, I'm not that worried about rain or showers during the race. I just want decent weather before and after the race.

Colleen - Was one of your shoes wetter than the other. Oh, I forgot. That's my good friend whom I am very supportive of.

I definitely have a cold in my head today, so I am kind of slow, but....I don't get it??? :confused3 But, if it is what I am thinking, girls don't do THAT! :scared1: At least the girls that I know.:flower3:

OMG:lmao: Mike was referring to Jodi's comment about one foot sweating more than the other in a previous post. I requested Mike cut Jodi a break this week because she's teetering on the edge so he's posing the question to you. I love your insinuation as to what the reference meant:rotfl2: I hope your head cold goes away:wizard:

Cindy - Sorry you're the whipping girl today:headache:

Lou - I agree with the forecast prediction as you explained it:thumbsup2 .

Jodi - You all set to leave for Florida in a little over 24 hourspopcorn:: ?

I am going to try to pack tonight since I have to pack for a family of four staying 10 days. I have most of it thought out but it's those little things that you have to remember that always get forgotten:confused: .

Good Evening Wench:hug: - I'm leaving in a little over 24 hours???? Holy CRAP!! I better pack or something. Our plane leaves @ noon on Thurs.! I plan to head to BW, drop off son & mom & head right over to the expo & get this thing started so I can get it over with already! Earl be damned, it's gonna be a fun marathon!:dance3:  :cheer2: :grouphug:

Jodi--we'll be at BW sometime Thursday afternoon--we could meet up then so we're not "complete" strangers on Sunday!;) And if it makes you feel any better, I need to be out of my house at 4am on Thursday!

OK, I've got nothing to add to everyone's stressin' and getting excited for the race, but I just wanted to say hi. :wave2:

Oh, I did make a new friend at my meeting in DC. Turns out one of staff people at my meeting who lives in DC just ran her first marathon at the MCM this year. We had a lot of fun talking about our experiences. She ran with Team in Training and finished right in front of the sweepers. Sounds like she had a really rough time on Haines Point.

I got my bag today. Had to go back to the airport to pick it up.

OK, back to your reguarly scheduled loony-ness.

Colleen - No head cold for me but I'm slow too. No beating around the bush. Are you saying guys you know pee in their shoe? WTH!!

Let's just point out a slight physiologic difference that, in theory, should make it much easier for a male to acheive sufficient distance away from one's leg as to avoid a wet shoe.

What kind of boys to you hang with?

One by one it looks like people are leaving or getting ready to leave. I actually have some family from New Orleans and South Jersey that leave tomorrow to get ready for 5K. It's getting me fired up!

I set my sights on this marathon 6 months ago, having not ever run any race, let alone a marathon. When I registered I put an estimated 5:30 time because I thought that was the best I could expect to do.

However, I decided at the last minute to run Philly and finished that marathon in 4:33 with a bum knee and groin. I'm still not happy about it. I've been staring at this darn course map for 6 months and now I want to beat the h#$% out of the Disney course in 4:00! The crazy thing is that I even have a whole strategy, including iPod playlists, to attack this thing.

Sorry about the selfish post but I'm FIRED UP today!

Ahem, check out post #11 on this potty/restrooms thread.:rolleyes1

Eeeewwww, WTH?!?

Of course during the MCM Jodi refused to stop at a port-a-potty on the course, and said her body started re-absorbing the urine from her bladder... I think it started coming out as sweat. That's the real reason I couldn't run with her anymore from mile 17 on. ;)

Eeeewwww, WTH?!?

The Boston Marathon is a point to point marathon, so runners need to take a bus those 26+ miles to the start. A guy from here told stories about his trip on the bus. He said, many men carried EMPTY 2 L soda bottles onto the bus and when they arrived at the start, they weren't empty anymore:eek: ... and it ain't Mountain Dew in dem bottles!:scared1:

WOW, post #11 is crazy!! Cguill is HARDCORE!!

Dave - So I wreaked of urine, eh?? Months later & finally the truth comes out.:rotfl:

When I was 18 I went out to WY to a school called National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) for a semester. One of the sections was a winter camping in the Tetons. We built Quinzees (snow huts) to sleep in, about 3 people per hut. It was a balmy 30 degrees inside & sometimes -20 outside. Many a night was it when my hut-mates took a "quinzee-pee" in one of their water bottles...male & female alike. I never did partake, always thought I'd miss & wee on someone in those tight quarters:scared1: . Believe me, I have no problem pullin' up a tree, but not sure I'd just wizz & let it run down my leg:eek: .

That doesn't bother me so much. It's a lot better than just relieving yourself on yourself...

Amen to that. I know while running Philly I saw a lot of things I am still trying to forget today. One poor old guy that I passed around Mile 5 in Center City had clearly lost it (#2) and wasn't able to find a portapottie. It was a bad scene that I wish I would not have witnessed.

Me, I'm with Jodi, I'm totally prepared to scan the local surroundings for "emergency bathrooms". You just need to remember that in Florida ya need to keep an eye out for the snakes and gators ! :scared1:

DUDE, that is RANCID!!

Stephanie - Are you going to the expo Thurs., too? We'll definitely have to "find" eachother @ BW b4 Sun. am!!

I ran up behind and then quickly passed a runner who couldn't keep "it" in Chicago at the Half-Marathon last year. :scared1: I could smell it at first, then it was obvious who it was. It was horrible and something one doesn't soon forget. Lets all hope this isn't in our marathoning futures.

I guess another reason to apply BodyGlide everywhere. :confused3 I can't even imagine the chafing issues with another 21 miles to go.
