Yeah, I had the 1000th post!!

Also wanted to add 60L and 80H is still TOO HOT,:scared1:

I need it to cool down to 45L and 60 High!:flower3:

Wow, I thought I had a hard time keeping up on the main WISH thread, and now there's no way I can even keep up on this thread! You guys are too funny.

SilverSteve--good thing there's two of us on here to "represent." Just because we have the really cool-guy names and everyone else is jealous, right? :thumbsup2

Mike--yeah, I have to admit, if the Brownies were still in it, I might actually root for them. But maybe not. They ARE the Brownies, after all. :) By the way, I'd like to have a few Jaguars players follow some Steeler fans into the woods....

Jodi/Sara--As long as Krista's signing consent forms, do you think I could get her to sign one saying she promises not to push off ALL the housework on me? That might be pushing my luck.

I did talk to Krista last night about Philly. Truth be told, I blamed it all on you guys and said you were all bad influences. I didn't say I was that brave, did I? She said she thought it might be fun to head there for that weekend. We'd still have a lot of details and planning to figure out, but at least it might be a possibility. That would be a great time! Other than the fact that I might have to see all of you there, but I'll take the good with the bad...

Hope you guys all have a great last week before Disney. Can't wait to see you all down there!

Steve

PS--by the way, is anyone shooting for a 4:30 marathon time? I know I don't stand a chance of hanging with you 4:00 people, or at least I don't want to push my luck, but I really am going for close to 4:30, maybe even a little faster if the weather cooperates. At this point, I haven't signed up for any of our pacing groups on here, but just thought I'd see what you guys were thinking for overall times. Also, I see a bunch of you are starting in Corral C, so I might get screwed not being able to start with you. I think I'm in B right now, but I plan to switch to D so that I can go through Red water stop #2, which is where Krista will be vounteering. So I may try to catch up with you guys at mile 3 (yeah, like that would be an easy logistical feat to pull off). :upsidedow

Jodi--nope, not going goofy this year--so Sat. will have to be solo--I'm sure I could stagger down to the lobby and wish you well and make sure you don't miss the bus!;)

Steve--Scott and I are not really sure what pace we'll be at on Sunday. We're gonna shoot for somewhere in the 4-4:30 range--maybe we'll have some time to chat during the 26.2

Nerves are definitely in full force today--went out for a nice, slow, easy 6 miles and ended up running them at an ave 8:45 pace w/a 14mph headwind for half of the time. Kept trying to slow down, but legs kept speeding back up. At this rate I should be flying around WDW on Sunday, very Road Runner-esque!

Wow, ya'll are so much fun today is a quote-fest!

It was interesting to run around Haines Point yesterday. It seemed so much smaller than it did during the MCM - smaller in every sense.
Dave - Nice that you got to relive some of the MCM without the pain. Wow!! What a good idea. Go back and run small portions of your past marathon courses that were especially difficult. That would give you a completely new, positive outlook (or just convince you that putting yourself through the pain of running a marathon is stupid!). REST THAT HIP!

The reason I am referred to as "SilverSteve" can be attributed to my surprise second-place finish in Nordic Combined at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer.
Classic!! :rotfl: I'll give you the gold just for working both Lillehammer and Nordic Combine into the same sentence.

How come they don't have a summer version of the Nordic Combine? Run a few miles, shoot a gun, run a few more, shoot some more. They could re-route the MCM through some of the seedier parts of town and you'd fit right in:eek: .

I'm so used to running alone that I don't think I could run with anyone for too long. I'm not one who likes to talk when I run because I need all the oxygen I can get.
Lou - You will fit right in with this group. I think most of us are of the same mind.

We also have the "running out of time thing" as a motivator, since DH and I are thinking about getting into the kid business next year.
Cindy - Just so you know, that business is not a money making proposition! The return on investment can be pretty great though:love1: .

So Jodi - :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: Glad to see you back girl!! I thought Mike might have scared you off with his incessant heckling:confused3 .
Mike - Please go easy on Jodi this week and don't give her anything else to fret aboutpopcorn:: . You thinking about tapering at all this week:rolleyes1 ?
Sara - I promise to be a good boy and a supportive friend to Jodi...... After I crack on her accupunture thing (and maybe a bit about Haynes Point). :clown:

I am planning to taper this week. 5 on Monday, 8 on Tuesday, 6 on Wednesday, constantly running up and down the aisle of the plane on Thursday. No, just kidding. The beverage cart always gets in the way:laughing: .

Jodi: You let someone stab you on the inner thigh with needles, yet you're worried about a catching an early bus? :rotfl: "
:rotfl:  :lmao:

First things first, what in the world are you guys talking about when refering to the Awakening statue & Haynes Point on the MCM course? Was it the out & back near the water where they handed out those jellybeans? I must've been ranting in my head @ that point staring @ the ground in anger!!!:confused3 Dave, is this where you stopped to go wee? I need to starting enjoying myself more during my running:rotfl:

You just concentrate on getting your running ensemble ready for next weekend (don't forget to match your tights & socksprincess: ). Good thing your poor daughter won't be there to witness all of this...make sure a cast member doesn't try & shanghai you for a stage show when you're running through Cinderella's castle;) .

He stuck needles into my inner, INNER thigh on both legs b/c my adductor/psoas & all that other crap over there, was tight as heck.

How come my right foot sweats more than my left?
Jodi - Sheeze, I could write a dissertation on just this one post! (If they only gave a PhD in smart-a**).

Let's take it point by point (no, not Haynes Point!)
1. Did you notice any of those pretty white buildings we ran past? Maybe a big tall one, all pointy on top? How 'bout the statue with the guys pushing up the flag? Anything? No? So, how was the pavement? Lines painted straight?

2. Sadly, I'm having trouble finding a tutu that is floofy enough to go with my tights. All of mine just kind of hang there providing entirely too much coverage of the ying and yangs. I may have to go with something not quite "stage ready" (or completely commando, I haven't decided).;)

3. Your inner thigh is getting poked and prodded by some dude (who, as far as we know, you are not married to or even dating) with needles and your muscles are tight? News Flash!! HELLOOO!!
Can't you just burn some incense and chant Oohmm or rub a crystal or something?

 If you want, I'll let you give me a bunch of money and I'll stick you with a safety pin from my race bib. Stayin' away from the inner thighs, though. I've become attached to the above mentioned ying and yangs!

4. Even I don't know how to respond to your mismatched sweating feet. Maybe your needle-sticking torturer put you out of balance?:rolleyes1

Oh and Mike, see Lou's post above, cool the heels buddy! You remind me of my DH, he started a new rehab program a few months ago in an attempt to run Boston this year and he goes out and runs a few 6:30's after 5 months of non-existent running.:sad2: He wasn't happy I scolded him.
Colleen - Just to be clear, there is NO comparison with the shuffling along I'm doing and the 6:30's of DH.

And all is right with the world now that your little flying Tink and walking Mickey are back on your Theta siggie!:cloud9:

At this rate I should be flying around WDW on Sunday, very Road Runner-esque!
Stephanie - Road Runner-esque? What, were you just admiring your Akron medal or something http://www.akronmarathon.org/? Good job on the run!

Whew, sorry for the long post.
Amateur!!

See you soon!:3dglasses

Actually, what I said was, you can run Philly IF we can go to WDW in October!!!! pirate: pirate: pirate:

Krista

Hmm...I was gonna give Mike a doctorate in Biggus Dee Baggus??;) . All kidding aside, I am impressed w/ your ramblings, oh tight-wearing fenbot! BTW, does Kathy get a medal once a year on your wedding anniversary??

If Kathy asks, I'm not posting. I should be cleaning in prep of the grandparents coming over to watch the girls this weekend (but it's easier to post than clean while eating a bowl of Corn Pops).

Cool! I get multiple degrees!

Krista - Like you guys weren't going to Disney in October anyways? Easy bargain for SteveOH.

Jodi - Fenbot? I thought those were the blondes in Austin Powers with the bullet shooting bras. I'm not sure I fit that description on either count.

And if Kathy got a medal every year on our anniversary, assuming size commensurate to grief endured, that sucker'd be a solid gold man-hole cover! She's a saint.

She's a saint.

Nothing like stating the obvious, dude! No, fenbot about sums it up! Are your aches & pains still there, or are you effectively ignoring them?

Stephanie - Thanks for the offer, but I'd hate for you to get up @ the buttcrack of dawn to see me off on Sat. a.m. .

Mike - Thanks for the Monday funny when I really needed it (see below)...

Lou - We're NOT meeting at the "W" tent pre-race. Colleen posted about the meeting spot somewhere here...If I get a chance I will let you know the post # this week.

Posting may be real slim this week because I have auditors swarming the office today wondering how I think I can go on vacation when they have an audit to perform:confused3 . I told them I am at their mercy for the week so we'll see how that goes;)

Cindy - Just so you know, that business is not a money making proposition! The return on investment can be pretty great though:love1: .

Seriously, that smilie kind of freaks me out. It's really creepy.

Cindy--I was thinking the same thing, but just didn't say it. I figured Mike made the smiley himself in between spoonfuls of Corn Pops. :)

OK, forecast now says chance of rain both days, but at least it's down from 80 to the mid 70s:eek: It also says chance of wicked thunder storms...ok I made up the wicked part, but either way is beat:guilty:

Morning Philly Marathoners f/k/a MCMers who occassional visit us on the weekly thread. I figured I'd post here in case you don't see my tidings on the weekly thread. ;)

So, this is to WISH those of you doing WDW this week good luck. Unfortunately, due to may ongoing physical issues, I have to DNS. Hopefully I'll get to meet some of you somewhere at sometime (WDW marathon weekend 2009? Philly 2008? Somewhere at a local CT/New England event?)

Classic!! :rotfl: I'll give you the gold just for working both Lillehammer and Nordic Combine into the same sentence.

Just wanted to point out that the Nordic Combined is ski jumping and cross country skiing. It would be a summer equivelent of the bi-athalon where you would get to shoot something as you ran. (Hopefully it wouldn't be annoying teammates. ;) )

ONLINE REGISTRATION FOR THE NOVEMBER 23, 2008 PHILADELPHIA MARATHON BEGINS ON TUESDAY, APRIL 1, 2008.

This is not an April Fools Joke. :lmao:

Jodi - I've been watching the forecast too. At first I was worried about the heat and threat of rain. Then I thought about that fact that I got through the Philly Marathon in a steady drizzle and 30-40 degree temps. I figured that 70-80 degrees and rain would be a picnic.

I'm more bummed if the rain screws up with my plans to roam around the parks.
