...we bought the rain cover but not the sunshade. I am concerned that my 5.5 month old DD will get cooked in the back - any suggestions or is there better coverage than I am anticipating? I don't think the cover in front is all that great either. No such thing as the perfect double, is there?:confused3

Neither of my boys have ever gotten burnt while riding in the back seat. Between the shade from me and the front seat, they seemed to be protected. I have had mine for almost 2 years now. Hope that helps!

I don't have a sun shade for the back, but our second DD was just born, so we haven't had to use our doubles kit in the hot summer sun yet.
I would def. buy a sun shade for the front though. That small little one that it comes w/ does not provide good protection. I just bought a black stretchy one...similar to the one that freerjl posted, but for the front of the stroller, at BRU.

protect-a-bub makes a shade specifically for the doubles seat of the P&T. P&T also makes a sun net (think rain cover but in solar mesh) that will cover the front and back seats.
