Our friends have just returned from their very first trip to Florida.

I spent the whole three weeks they were away worrying that they might not be enjoying themselves, but they did!

They spent hours and dinners galore with us making notes, asking trillions of questions - but you just can't but worry that just because we love it and have done it often, that it's someone elses cup of tea.

But they had a ball - so much that they can't wait to go again.

They came straight around the following day after they arrived back home and spent about four hours here telling us all about it.

I am SO relieved:earsgirl:

Have you ever recommended something to someone and they've just hated it?

So pleased that your friends had such a great time Annie :) You must be relieved.

I friend of my visited WDW about 4 years ago and I raved and told her loads about it all. She didn't like it at all!! A huge surprise as she's such a massive Disney fan. I think the problem was she went in January and it was chilly out there. The only plus point was that she loved her Disney 3 day cruise.

I'm a big coward and never recommend anything to anyone because I know I'd just worry they wouldn't like it!

I am happy to tell people what I like and what suits my requirements, I just don't go as far as saying I think they'd like it too ;)

Annie - yes!!

It was friends of mine who booked a fortnight in Orlando staying on I Drive. Fortunately they didn't book because of our recommendation but when I knew they'd booked I raved on about all there is to do.

Unfortunately I think they were used to the sort of holiday where you sleep in late, eat and drink all day with the odd dip in the pool. Well, they nearly managed this but obviously didn't see much of the parks - spent 90 minutes (!!!!) in MK and then left saying they'd "seen it all" (personally it takes me 90 minutes just to do Main Street properly;)) and then spent the next 13 nights saying how bored they were and there was nothing to do ???!!!

And yes I did feel guilty - so I know what you mean!

Phew.....................

We took a family with us and they liked maybe a little too much and spent so much money. Well the wife and son did and the all ended up not speaking to one another for the last 6 days of the trip. Filled up all (5) credit cards and had to use company one.

We went to WDW with some friends a few years ago after they had listened to us go on about how fantastic it was. Unfortunately they just didn't get 'IT', you know that feeling of excitement and awe that all us Disney fans get, along with the lump in the throat when I first see the Magic Kingdom from the boat going across the Lagoon. They kept saying things like 'Thats nice', and not 'Wow that was great, race you back to the end of the queue'! which is what DH and I are usually saying. Also they kept asking what we were going to do next, whereas we've always just gone with the flow (as opposed to Gone with the Wind!), it got quite tedious as they didn't seem able to make a decision for themselves. A bit like Miffy2003's friends they thought the object for any holiday was to consume vast amounts of alcohol. It was a big lesson for us, we wouldn't go to Disney now with anybody else, just DH and me. If anyone even suggests going to Disney either with us or just at the same time, its a case of 'Hands Off, Disney is our special place'.
